Will buying links from forums here harm my site?

Hi all,

My site has remained 100% white hat, but I was badly hit by the recent update. I am almost certain it is down to my weak backup profile. When I was looking at my competitors backlinks though, they have probably 80-90% spammy looking backlinks. Yet, google seems to favour them.

I've always seen the great results people seem to have on the forums here with buying links here - https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/seo-link-building.43/

All I see are people getting great results with these, but will it harm my site down the line? I was always led to believe these paid services were bad and harmful. But I may be wrong. I figured I best post here in the white hat SEO forum as I might get a better an unbiased opinion.

What are your guys thoughts on this?

Yeah absolutely! Do you have any recommendations yourself? Also, do you think they can backfire down the line?

If you buy bad services, yes, it can harm your site. However, with a bit of knowledge, those bad services can actually do really well, if you know exactly how to use them. It seems like this is new territory for you, so you are best focusing on private PBN's and real guest posts. They tend to be a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't recommend $1 backlink for your site. Some people allow you to rent backlinks. Those are good. If your consistently making money, you can try them. I won't recommend diversity backlinks . Atleast buy backlink that is worth $10(Not 100% safe)

There are awesome packages as well as shitty packages.

You will have to read through the reviews (some reviews are written because of freebies, so try reading negative reviews on the thread, see what problems they faced with the service)

I use my own for the most part, other than that, it is best to look for reviews left by others, even contact them direct to see how things turned out.

Yes its safe browse the pages and read reviews and look for negative ones!

Apologies, I thought you were looking exclusively for links on forums.
I pointed these links to specific pages on my site.

I won't point 100 $1 backlinks to my money site if I were you but its your choice.
I did once bought a package which only costed my like $20 for 10 backlinks and they turned out to be good but it was start of that sellers service. I wouldn't buy that package now because it might be overused.

The main reason I won't risk buying them because of metrics and low link juice.
It takes a lot of money setting up a good PBN with good metrics. $1 per backlink won't satisfy them unless they oversell those links or otherwise they won't have good metrics.

If it’s for a money site you need to buy premium quality links, but if you buy $1 pbns and point it on your money siye then it’ll definitely tank. For best results read people review, and Ask for samples
