I have been trying to help a friend and my mum with increasing there rankings. I have built out citations and 2.0s.. However, one thing we are lacking is reviews.

How many reviews should i buy ?

My mum is asking clients for reviews and when they are in the restaurant, they say they will. However, only a small few actually do. Which is getting frustrating.

I am thinking of purchasing 10 reviews and having the vedor post reviews, every other day.

What you guys think ?

Drip feed the views and you will see the effects. Make sure to target your keywords in the reviews. Spread them out over a couple months.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Do you think adding 5 reviews per a week is too much ?

Yes.. If you currently have none.

We have 20 reviews on the 1 account so far. Its not new. However, I have built citations, 2.0s, and few other things.

We tried to get reviews "naturally". However, its taking to long. We keep getting people saying the food is great and when they get back home, they will leave us a review on google.

Majority of them never do.. But every now and then, some do follow through on there promises.

The top restaurant in out local area has over 100 reviews.

I was thinking 5 reviews a week and then geadually increase ?

What is your thoughts on this ?

We have been on google business for over 1 year now.

I am trying to make a big push for my mum now, as summer is when our area gets more tourists and people eating out.

Thanks for your help.

Update

I have just purchased 12 google business reviews for €40. I have asked the vendor to post 3 reviews per a week.

I will report back with my results.

Kinda ORM so here's some ORM type advice...

This is a job for the waitress/waiter, who is the professional contact from business to customer, and who will be providing most of the "reviewable service."
There are a couple of objectives that need to be explained to the hungry patrons.

First, the customers need to be reminded that they are the most important asset in that building, and nothing would be possible without them.
Then, let them know that their voice is ultimately what helps shape the best possible experience for everyone who dines at the restaurant.
Next, ask them to keep in mind while dining, to look for possible areas of improvement in service.
And finally, ask them something along the lines of = "Would (refreshing description of drinks)___________ or (savory description of appetizers)___________ be a good way to start the day/evening?"

What's going to happen? They're going to be more observant of their surroundings.
The wait staff is going to perform a little better, knowing they're being watched.
You might actually uncover some bottlenecks that could be solved to actually improve the experience.

If shit goes wrong, it's a learning experience, and not a business that doesn't give a fuck.

And then at the end of the dining, have a business card ready to give with their check, with two options.

The first message, "Did you have a great experience? Shout from the rooftops and let everyone know!"
Provide a short link to a landing page that thanks them, and has a list of the top 3 review locations, with direct links to the business' profile.
You'll probably want to create a shortener that ONLY you use. Using Bit.ly and goo.gl are risky, because they have control over it, not you.

Long Example = janesgourmetburgersandsteaks(dot)com
Short Example = jgbs.direct (yes that's the address!)

Below that link, have a message:
"Did you find something that needed improvement? Help us fix it immediately, by sending a message directly to the owner"
[email protected]

Use this on a business card, or cardstock that's small enough to fit in a pocket.
Just make sure it's EASY to type on the cellphone, and the site is designed almost exclusively with mobile in mind.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Such a great response.

We are going to create a LP specifically for reviews been asked for.

Our waiter has been asking the patrons and even myself and my mum. What really annoys me is they sit there smiling and saying it was great food and then when they get home they will reviews us. Majority never dont. Its so annoying. It would help us a lot if they did review us.

Anyways, I have already purchased 13 x 5 star google business reviews to be drip feeded in over 1 month. So hopefully designing a LP, new business cards and other reviews been left, it will motivate others to do the same.

You have to remember, that once they've left your place, you're no longer in their mind.

That's why it's important to make it super easy for cellphone.

Explain the review process takes just one or two minutes, and sell the point that it's been made specifically for mobile use.

Hell, you could bring the review card with the "pre-check," explain the review process at THAT SPECIFIC MOMENT, and ask them to review while you're processing their card and/or money.

Then go fuck off for a bit while they do the review in location!

I don't think so.

2 of the top 3 in my industry SERP have 20-40 reviews
Meanwhile there are others with 500+ not in the top, so I doubt it matters

I think it matters more how many people are looking on google for your brand name and click on your site.

We usually do something a bit similar currently. When people say they will leave us reviews, we even give them a free shot of there choice.

We even had a group of 7 people in the other day. Things were great. They loved the food. We give them link and everything for GMB page. We gave them a shot. They promised they would leave us a review and then nothing. So dissapointing and is becoming a common pattern now.

Rewarding before the work is ... not how to get the reviews.

Think of a normal conversion rate. 1-4%??? Think about how many customers in a day. Be realistic.

Put an offer out.

' Do you love our food and service as much as we love serving you? Leave us a review on Google and receive a free {starter}{main}{drink}{meal}{10%Off} your next meal'

Offer them an incentive for their review (coupon, free appetizer, dessert, etc.)

There's a few reputation management threads and services here than could give you some ideas. Figure it out and you could also start servicing other restaurants in your area.

I think purchasing Google Reviews is not a Rigth way to increase your reputation. OF Course, you can buy it google is not just a machine. Today google becomes the completly human. So, as you are thinkning, Google also will find the same thing. So, if you want to increase your reviews then you should increase your customes and your services.

I have read multiple blogs from writers and other authorities such as moz local, brightspark and a few others. There has been multiple tests that proove reviews are a ranking signal.

The way i see googles algo is like a recipie. Your trying to feed google and get the balance right.

I have done citations and a ton of other stuff. I have the same citations as my top rated competitor. I have then extended on this. I have links from local influencer bloggers. I have done map stacking and a ton of other stuff too.

Now the only thing our competitor is beating is on is google reviews. I have already ordered the reviews so i am going to try it.

How can buying reviews of a reputable vendor harm the ranking ?

If i got real reviews of real clients, would that harm my website. Hell no.. So i am not getting the logic when people are saying about getting reviews will be bad.

In my eyes. It is the missing piece of the puzzle for me. If the reviews i buy have a negative impact, i will ask vendor to remove. Simple as that.

Google isnt a machine. Google isnt a human. Its an algo. Simple.

The google reviews are a ranking signal, according to various aithorities online. Theres even a couple blogs out there showing the impact reviews have and showing its a ranking signal.

Google is not a machine or human. Its a search engine, that dictates results through an algo.

The reviews in my opinion, will help ranking. How does getting 5 star reviews hurt my ranking in any way ?

I will report back in my findings. Still having a tough time understanding those who are saying in not so many words 5 star reviews wont have any impact. We will have to agree, to disagree on that.

If for whatever miracle the 5 star reviews have a negative impact, i will swiftly email the vendor to remove. Its that simple.

Make sure to post your results!

I bought 5 geo-location based reviews last week and provided the vendor with keyword-riched content! Still waiting to see the results :-).

Keep trying, success will come for sure!
