Will bitcoin survive if the internet was shut down worldwide for a week?
Yeah, bitcoin would survive. Transactions would just pause since nodes/miners need the internet. Once the internet comes back, the network syncs up again and carries on like nothing happened.

If the internet went down globally for a week, Bitcoin would basically pause since transactions need connectivity to propagate. Local offline transactions could still be signed, but they wouldn’t confirm until the network came back online. Once the internet returned, the blockchain would sync and continue, so Bitcoin itself wouldn’t die coz it would just stall temporarily.

Bitcoin would stop moving temporarily since transactions need the internet, but the network and coins would survive. Once connectivity is back, it would continue normally.

If the worldwide internet would randomly shut down for an entire week BTC would be the least of your problems, the whole financial system leans on it.

Okay but for a short amount of time, the first nodes and miners will own the network right? and they'll have more than enough power to add to the chain.

The network itself will probably survive the outage, but mass panic will most likely crash the entire market, both stocks and cryptocurrencies.

Technically, the ledger exists, but Bitcoin’s usefulness would be gone until networks are restored.

Will bitcoin survive if the internet was shut down worldwide for a week?
Bitcoin would effectively stop functioning for that week since transactions and network verification rely on the internet. Once connectivity returns, the network could resume, but some transactions might be delayed or lost.

The world dont will survive. Only some people.

But yes, will.

The data still saved.

Just turn on the internet again then will works again.

Also you can sell your key wallet.

Like.

World: BLACKOUT!

Me: Bruh, I need foods, guns and lands. I own a wallet with 2.1 BTC. It's okay for you?

You: Yeah! Want my wife too?

That's it.

Trust will erode tho so probably the market wont recover for a long time as for the network that should keep going after the downtime.

Will bitcoin survive if the internet was shut down worldwide for a week?
Bitcoin wouldn’t be able to process transactions during a global internet outage. Once the internet comes back, the network could resume, but any pending transactions would be delayed or dropped.

I don't know about Bitcoin, but young mothers with small children would definitely have new big problems...
