Hey guys,

I will be launching an Android App soon and was wondering if I could get some feedback as far as promoting the app. The app isn't a game, but it involves a very famous game in the Play Market Place. It is basically a guide with cheats of the game. I am very new to this and I want to spend some advertising money on getting this guide out there. Here are some questions....

1) I want to monitize this app, do you think $.99 would be appealing to users?

2) Could you recommend and promotion service/website that will handle the following: creating a facebook page for the app, getting likes, uploading some videos to Youtube and creating other social media buzz.

Are you going to have a free version or are you just making a standalone paid app?

If it's for cheats, why not make the app free but limit 80% of the cheats to paid users?

Since my app will only offer 1 cheat, I am thinking of offering it for sale. Maybe $.99, Im not sure.
 
Why would anyone pay you for "cheats" when they can just google them and get them for free?

You could but this particular cheat requires that the user download a file and so forth. My app will automate everything.
 
OK..... I launched the app on the Android Market for $.99.....Any recommendations on how to promote it? Should I switch to free with ads?
 
You could by some reviews, ratings, google+1 and downloads to get the app a nice boost in the beginning.

I want to do that but I understand these services are only for free apps.....how can I promote a paid app other than facebook ads and admob?
 
I wouldn't waste your time uploading a game guide to be honest. It will be very luck to last more than a few days.

If you are thinking about doing one for any of the big games from king etc it will get taken down.

They seem to be a lot more on the case than used to be. You might get it on amazon.

A cheat apps? If its for any of the popular games - will be taken down in a few days/weeks. if for a not so popular game - who will download it? :( This worked back in 2012-2013 but now Google Play is getting tougher by the day. Plus you made it paid - do you really think Google will pay you those earnings ( you are basically stealing from an established app with probably thousands IAP a day) ? My humble suggestion and what worked like a charm before the big ban hammer - make the app free, load it up with ads - 2 full page ads on entry, banner on every page , 2 full page on exit/back button. Then join as many FB groups related to the game with as many accounts as you have and promote it shamelessly till the the day they ban it. Do NOT use admob tho, use StartApp/Appnext/Applovin combo.
 
Your price is ok. You can try on Andriod related Facebook pages and groups. Also popular forums are good source of getting traffic.
