Will apple search engine replace Google?

Is it possible in future? How will bloggers be affected by this if it happens?

yes it will, anhd apply will have a facebook alternative soon.
 
I don't think that any other search engine can replace Google for the next 10 years or so, but it would be really nice for us IMers to have multiple traffic sources. The Google monopoly is not good for us, in my opinion. They put ads anywhere they want to, they host our content on their servers without paying us, they suspend our Adsense accounts, and I can go on and on. So, let's hope that Apple and Ahrefs can give Google tough competition.
 
According to tech blogger Robert Scoble, Apple will introduce several things at WWDC 2023. Apple will, he believes, produce a search engine to compete with Google. This rumour isn't new; Apple has already been linked to the launch of a search engine. “Oh, and there'll be a new search engine.
 
There is a discussion about this elsewhere and all i’m going to say is trying to Blackhat on the search of a company who’s hardware is probably used by about 40% of IM pros and amatuers, and as a consequence, who hold more personal info about their users than other tech giants is not going to go down so well.
It will probably be an even more draconian seo process than what we have with google right now.

I am hoping that by search, they are going to stick to specific use cases, like academic search indexes, since Macs are so popular with Students anyway. But as for it being an actual broad base search engine, i’d rather they didn’t.
 
It is not only Apple going into the SE business, ahrefs is doing it with https://yep.com/ as well.

"Replace" is a heavy word. A product doesn't need to *replace* an existing market leader to be successful. Yes that does bring massive success, but you don't need to own 90% of the market to make some money.

Look at Bing, Microsoft surely wouldn't be running it had it not been making them some money in some way. Yet it only holds less than 3% of the search market share. It surely makes some money for Microsoft even if Bing itself might be running at a loss.

Same for Apple. They have been doing this "Privacy first" campaign and surely want to cash out on the privacy concerns a lot of their users have about Google. If they actually launch a public search engine, it will definitely bring some new people into their ecosystem just because of this. That would be a W for Apple.

They don't need to replace Google. All they need to do is to build a decent search engine that holds true to their "privacy first" campaign.

IMers will definitely be benefited in some way. Having alternatives is never bad.
 
Apple will have a huge usage spike right out of the gate when they swap all their devices to their own search engines. It's like what Microsoft does with windows but on a larger more used scale. It won't overtake google anytime soon but it's certainly going to grab a huge market share in the US (maybe larger than bings 38%). International is a wait-and-see.
 
i dont think that Google is going anywhere any time soon, but yeah Apple can try their best. They will have an initical user base as they will implement their search engine in all of their devices but still, its not enough to beat google
 
Google would be in top in the search engine and it takes time for apple to become competitive
