Say, I build a web 2.0 article on "blue widgets" and the article is linked to my money site widgets.com using anchor text "blue widgets" or naked url "bluewidgets.com"

I build the following tier link building structure to my web 2.0 article

    Web 2.0 Article
    |
Tier 1 Contextual Do Follow Articles <-- Social Bookmarks, Wikis, Social Network
    |
Tier 2 Contextual Do Follow Articles <-- Social Bookmarks, Wikis, Social Network
    |
Tier 3 Contextual Do Follow Articles <-- Social Bookmarks, Wikis, Social Network

What are the chances that my web 2.0 article will outrank my money site article?
Or in other words, does this link structure guarantee that my money site will rank above my web 2.0 article, if say my web 2.0 is in first 10 results?

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Assumptions: The article on my money site is a 1500 words authoritative article. The article on web 2.0 is a 1000 words original article.

It can definitely happen. The best way to handle it IMO is to make the web 2.0 a decent landing page in itself, sort of a "mini money site", so if it ends up ranking you'll still make money.

A "web 2.0" is just a subdomain... it can not only outrank but it can also do it way easier than a regular domain (providing that the domain where the web2.0 is located has some nice stats).

It can definitely happen but since you own the web 2.0 you have control over the content. If the web 2.0 outranks your money site and then put HQ quality content on the web 2.0 and in the meantime buy some high PA/DA links for your money site.

Definitely yes! Tested many times by yours truly..

This is correct as well, however you cannot prevent your web2.0 from being banned...

^^ this, it highly depends on your niches and how lucky you are, some competitors will get your web 2.0 banned.

And don't forget about spam, if you spam too hard, your web 2.0 can get deleted too.

Whatever kind of niche you have as long as you have competitors. and "Lucky" only means it's a matter of time the longer your web2.0 live means you are lucky, not the "lucky" that your web2.0 wont be deleted... thats the problem having a web2.0 being ranked.. You may find web2.0s now ranking wait few weeks and check again.

When you've been in a niche for long enough and start building links to your T1 Web 2.0 properties, its not uncommon for them to rank as well. In a niche I've been in for about 1.5 years, the entire first page is taken up by my money site in first place and all my web 2.0s, with 2-3 slots for Wikipedia and this pesky Amazon product that won't seem to go away. Page 3 is where the rest of my competition sits.

Anything could happen with Google, a web2.0s with powerful DA could pretty much outrank the money site itself. Like suggested above, it would be helpful to use the web2.0 as more than just a linking page.
