Ok, they are nofollow, but do you really think that google totally ignores them?

If I have 10 links from wikipedia for more than 1 month... well... those link MUST be legit, and i dont think that google would ignore them just because they are nofollow.

No follow just means that you aren't getting page rank. It definitely helps with your rankings.

A link from wikipedia Google DEFINITELY notices.

According to Google:

"In general, we don't follow them. This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links."
Code:

I can confirm that wikipedia nofollow links are counted in Google Webmaster Tools.

I would pay for a wikipedia link building service in a heart beat. I'm not seeing any on here or on fiverr.

That is because of the editors on the site. If your site even remotely looks like it is selling something your link will be removed. You have to find other wiki's to post to that have just as much value.

u better write a small article on your services on wikipedia and backlink it to ur website. or find some targetted niche articles which require citation and add some content on it with links..

It's hard to get a link to stick in Wiki. Your site must contribute real value to the Wiki page. So if it sticks, then Google's algorithms will recognize your site's value.

I have a website with 5 wikipedia backlinks. I dont know if the linkjuice from wikipedia is passed to the rankings but i get a TON of traffic from wikipedia.

1. google organic traffic
2. wikipedia traffic

If you can get a link from wikipedia. Get it!

thanks a lot.. .that's really good! Luckly i've been able to put 3-4 links on wikipedia and wikibooks, so now i just need to see the benefits =)

Every once in a while a Wikipedia thread pops up :)

While the links are nofollow, bear in mind that there are many sites (reputable ones too) that directly scrape content off Wikipedia and when your links get copied over, they become ********.

Besides, nofollow or not.. Wiki links are a source of great traffic.

It is difficult to get your links stick there, but with a bit of perseverance you can achieve that.

Dude, follow or no-follow Wikipedia links are MAJOR in helping you rank and gain authority in the eyes of the SE's! MAJOR!
