It does help, but it is not easy to get a wikipedia page made
It's not that difficult if you have a legit business and a bit of cash.

Right, but I discourage doing it yourself, wikipedia is very strict about this. Better to have someone else do it even if you have to pay

It is not as easy ass it used to be.
Wikipedia actively monitors link added. If you add irrelevant link it will most probably be removed. Same for creating page.

This fellow is correct. I don't edit on Wikepedia much, but if I happen to see an entry that is obvious publicity and not notable, I sometimes remove it.
It takes a lot of time to babysit a page against vandals or overzealous editors. If you decide to pay for a page, be sure the seller guarantees to watch it for a few months or it could be deleted in one day. I don't know if it's worth several hundred or one thousand dollars when you can do it yourself with some patience, but it might be worth a couple hundred for the convenience.
