if negative effects is what you're concerned with, then don't! There's not going to be any negative effects.
As for positive effects.... I think one link is too little to matter. But, at the end of the day it's still a link (and a good on, too), so I'd say "good job or getting it"

How did you got backlink on wikimedia? I tried posting info-graphics on it through all means but couldn't get posted. Creative commons are really tough to understand

I got one too mate (naturally, that infographic was ranking #1 in images for 4-5 months straight). Looks like your infographic game is strong.
It's a nice addition. Now try to top it off with a nice Wikipedia link (it's easier to add it yourself).
A lot of people use Wikipedia references and Wikimedia commons infographics as outbound links on their sites, so you might get good natural backlinks with time.
