    hey everyone,

i've built ~5 pages on each of those web2.0 properties so far Wikidot, Blogspot and Wordpress (so 3x5 = 15 short blogpost pages) and have put links on them back to my main site..... but when i do a backlink check on my main site.....only 1 Wikidot link is showing up so far

the rest of the wikidots show up with i do a site:http://xxxxxxx.wikidot.com which means they're indexed i guess? but for some reason their links don't show up on backlink checkers

i have pinged each of them with different pinging tools more than a couple times and it has been about 2 weeks.... no increase in backlinks and the wordpress/blogspots aren't even indexed

any input? any success stories with any of them? and how long?

would greatly appreciate some quality input! thanks in advance!!!!

    pinging doesn't give you backlinks

    to get your site indexed
use ping, submit your RSS to aggregators, bookmark

    to get backlinks
create articles, comments on blogs, bookmark (do follow), etc

Create an Rss feed with Google Feedburner....ping the Site and Rss feed at once using Pingler then Pingomatic.

Use the top 20 socialbookmarking sites to bookmark each page.....that should get your site indexed with the week and sometimes even on the same day.

Backlinks are a different story but I think from reading your post that you were just just trying to figure out how to get your sites indexed the fastest.

ok maybe i should've worded it better

I created backlinks on the 15 Wordpress Blogspot Wikidots back to my main page, then I pinged the Wordpress Blogspot Wikidots

Your basically saying the same thing.

Just because you created 15 posts pointing to your main page and pinged them doesn't mean that your backlinks will show up instantly.

With that said, not every single backlink will show up, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Instead if wasting time worrying about how many backlinks show up, you should be building more every day. That is the only way you will see real results.

It's not true that Google will only index and rank top notch unique content - but it is true that there are certain quality standards. There might be a problem with your content which is making Google reluctant to index your properties.

For your backlink check, are you using google or yahoo? Only yahoo will provide you with a backlink check that is near-accurate.

You should also be thinking about the potential for these web 2.0 properties to rank in their own right. In my experience, wikidot is a high-trust web 2.0 property, and is always among the first properties on my list when I launch new networks. It appears to rank well in general.

As for wordpress, it ranks quite well. Bizarrely, considering the amount of properties I create, I have had extremely limited success with blogspot. I put this down to bad luck, as many others report high levels of success with this platform.

Remember also that it is essential to fuel your web 2.0 properties with backlinks from a variety of sources.
