wierd G dance or what else ... ?

Ok ..its been awhile since i last found myself in a possition askin' for some opinions because i always found the answer in some1 elses thread so here it goes.

I have a 9 month info domain that was rankin 4 in local google for a 201k exact search.
After the panda update it went down to #8 and almost #10 at times but for specific users.
It took me awhile but i think i figured what the main problem was and bounced back slowly to #5 where it stood for almost 1 week.

Now the above is not my problem just givin you a little intel before this:

Today i started #5 for like 1/3 of the day and then it was #6 for like 2 -3 hours ; #7 for like 4 hours and #8 for a couple of hours and it seems at the end of the day stoped at #9.

Now i dont know what to think as i've never seen this "dance" before.

the only changes i've done to this is that i had a pr3 domain 301 to the actual website and now its not.

Waiting for all opinions.

hmmmm....i assume the same thing but as i said before it looks kinda wierd ....i noticed google dance before but this is probably the wierdest if it really proves to be one.

Dont get too stressed from the dance. Google has been quite volatile lately...I suggest to give it some time ..Im sure it will bounce back.

Just so everybody knows if it sees something like this.

It seems it was just another G dance as wierd as it looked since a new day my site got on #6 and it seems it's stayin there for the moment.

Rankings don't stick much lately.
I was hit by panda 2 months ago and I stopped backlinking, but rankings got better by itself. I start backlinking again, it goes into dancing mode. 4, 20, 10, 13...14...

Same experience but with a 2+ year old .com domain. Used to be #4 for my main keywords last year, but since the last 4 months, it slowly dragged to #10. I've been doing aggressive backlinking over the last 2 month and as of the last 4 weeks, my keyword hit #7. Today it's back to #10. BTW, I'm still backlinking. I hope it's G dance because I spent a great deal of time and money on this.

Is it just me or does G dance a lot more than it used to a few months ago? Anyone have any data on how long the dance normally lasts after building some links?

for how long did you had in on #4? Maybe it never belonged there?

google got stupid
I was page 1, then 2, then disappeared

I made my site go offline, had no content on it, just directory listing (2 directories)

Stupid G puts me back on page 1, last position, wtf!

wow..thx for all the info on the big G dance guys...sure helps to see some other types of dance.

So far i noticed this simple pattern on local G for one of my good websites 1k UV / day .

If i make a considerable content update G will start a dance and as im #5 it will dance between #6 to #9

as of link building i never got a big dance out of it ...the dance consists of 1 spot and very rare i notice a 2 spot dance ...but that is for few mins ...max 1 hour and then its back to the old spot.

PS: if anyone has problems with gainin back their rank after latest changes dont hesitate to pm me for some help ...so far it seems my method worked
