So I thought of a pretty sweet idea to make a targeted trackback spammer but I don?t have the bandwidth right now to sit and write the CURL to get it working well.
So here?s the idea. As far as I know there are no trackback spammers out there this targeted but please correct me if I?m wrong.
1. You hit rpc.weblogs.com/changes.xml and pull down the list of every blog post that has just been published. You could collect this several times a day as we are talking hundreds of thousands of blog posts in this feed and it?s constantly updated.
2. Store this data in a DB and query it against your list of keywords. You are looking for URLs/Post titles containing your keyphrases
3. You generate a blog post around that keyword. Hell you could republish one of the ones from the above feed and run it through some kind of markov synonimizer if you wanted.
4. In each blog post you add a set of ?related links? at the end to those blog posts that include your keywords and let WP process the trackbacks.
Equals targeted trackback spam. The other option with this feed is to just republish the content and do a pregreplace on certian words and stuff your links in and republish back to all the ping services out there and let all the syndicated spam sites republish the junk feeds with links back to you. This is basically what Technobound?s RSS Xploiter does.
Alternatively you could also use the same service as a kickass comment spammer. Here?s how:
1. You hit the above feed and pull down all those blog posts everyday and store it in a DB for a few days
2. Build a bot which hits all the posts that target your keyword a few days after the post has been published and pull out all of the comments,
3. You query Google for the blog posts you just scraped the comments from and collect the URLs of all the sites where the post has been syndicated.
4. You take the comments you collected from the source post and then run a bot which re-posts those comments on each of the ppls blogs who syndicated the post. One comment per syndicator.
BAM! You end up with highly relevant comments which you know are likely to be approved because they are about exactly the same thread and you can stuff your links in each comment.
Targeted, scaleable comment and trackback spamming plus syndicator exploitation as a bonus
Now - I?m gonna open this up to the clever ones amoung you who could build this and trust you wont just steal my idea! I?m happy to share any hardware costs and help with coding/best approach where possible but I just don?t have any free time right now as the day job has me slammed!
Any takers?
