I'm getting statistics left and right on how its is very rare to make money online even though I've struck success myself. I want to see others thoughts.
This post is very controversial but I need a peace of mind *sorry for the misleading title

Here's a list of some statistics below and Cons of different industries from what I've experienced myself and read in articles.

1. 99% of traders losing money in the stock market [don't get me started on mlm's and "forex trading" if you honestly think you can make money forex trading please leave this fourm]
2. Almost half of affiliate marketers make less than $20,000 a year
3. 8% of amazon 3rd party seller make over 100K a year [Revenue]
4. Dropshipping, 8/10 business fail and 3% last longer than 5 years | roughly 29/30 stores fail in the first 6 months
5. [VERY Opinion based, did this myself about 4 years ago] Retail Arbitrage has low margins

I have listed only a few and can give sources to most of these statistics if needed
My message is to HELP not hurt, Please don't give me the spiel on "do it yourself" because I have done everything on the list and only found success in 2

If you can PLEASE share your story under this thread explaining your success making money online.

The reality is that most people (at least right now) don't make money online whether it's because they don't know how, haven't thought about it trying, or tried but had a poor attempt or plan on how to succeed.

It only seems like so many people are making it in life making money online because we are constantly seeing only the success stories on youtube, IG, other social media, advertisement etc.

If 1 airplane crashes everyday on this planet and kills 200 people per day, and is reported all over the news, tv, internet, you would be convinced that airplanes are crashing all the time and it's happening to everyone everywhere but you would be wrong.

Even if 1 airplane crashed every single day with 200 passengers, airplanes would still be the SAFEST mode of transportation in the world by far bar none. With more than 4.5 billion people travelling by air each year, that would mean 12.3 million people travel by airplane PER DAY in the world. With only 200 people dying everyday that would mean, something like 0.0000001% chance of you dying....in fact the number is so small that a calculator can't even show you the percentage properly LOL.

Yet due to the media, and seeing the news of 1 plane crash per day, we'd all seriously believe the airlines are f**** up and riding on a plane is a death sentence.

That's the power of deceit and misinformation and false advertising. That's what people are getting right now about making money online is that easy and that simple just because a million people on this planet make good money online out of the 8 billion humans.

I agree with oatmeal. The flaw in these statistics is the population size. Because of the vast amount of knowledge on the internet, it is very easy to get into a domain with the dream of making big bucks, but every field is bound to have a finite number of monopolies (money making opportunities). Add the two together and you get these statistics (think 5 job positions and 100 applicants vs 5 job positions and 1000 applicants).

Never made a cent. It's fun tho lol but I never let it take precedent over my real job.

I think a lot of people who make money are the ones who sell make money online courses

I don’t know about others but I have been following @WebMinati and his case studies show it’s possible to make money if you apply some common sense and put in efforts, many more in the journey section too make money

OP I get your point, btw I also agree with @oatmeal
I know you ain't gonna like this but, you obviously haven't tried hard enough!

For my 1st "success" online I got lucky, at least that is how I look on that.
I got hired by a huge company back in days while I was still kinda newbie, once you have money other successful people want to be a part of your crew and after that, it was just growing.

When you are down, you can't do anything!
You are not accepting new people in your life because of it and...
Whatever we say, 2 brains are smarter than 1.

You can get it alone, I'm not saying that.

Anyway, I fell down, lost everything, and got hit by a huuuge depression!
I came back, make it once again!

I was going in a circle for 10 years almost.

I knew what I need to do, but I was always missing that "last step" for some weird reason, but it was my fault, not yours or anyone else, my fault!

I made my own mistakes on my journey.
I was going up and down because I was feeling comfortable once I started making money I was not asking for more, I was not thirsty but that is where I made mistakes actually, I was not getting into other businesses, getting more sources of income!

It took me a long time to understand that the biggest mistake is having just 1 damn source of income, once you already have enough money to invest in tons of other projects I was just working on 1 damn project like it's gonna live forever, that's how I was thinking!

If you have that kind of mindset no matter what, you gonna lose it at the end!
If I think about how I can't get more then $1/day and I keep thinking about that, in the end, it won't happen.

It's weird and at the same time hard to explain (plus I just woke up hehe still on my 1st coffee)...

Sometimes you get lucky, in most cases, it's hard-hitting any success online but it's not that hard at the same time!
We just need to be constant, believe it or not, it's all about that!

If we talk with everyone on this forum, I believe that 99% will exactly say the same exact thing.
"I was so close but I stopped at one point"...

We all been there, why is that happening? That's a story for some other day...

Na I'm not that thirsty for money to go against my morals. If I didn't make a cent its like the blind leading the blind lol
But most gurus sell shit anyway. The cheesy "FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT". It works 'cause there are always noobs looking to spend money on miracles. So gurus make money off that and are always like "Hey dude, you too can do this, let's make money together. SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL and don't forget to buy our "101 secret hacks to boost your Bank account in the next SEX month. ON AUTOPILOT way only, NO HASSLES" :D

Amazing story man, differentiation is key having not to rely on one source will help you in the long run. Most of what you explained are some of the principles Ray Dalio uses.

You must have been close to success at least once, little bigger success, at least once in your life, and you must have stopped, right?

Most people don't have the money to start with something, and in most cases, people who make money are making laugh at those people and I don't like it, they all (most of them) forgot how they started!
Instead of helping they are putting these people even more down like they are not already down.
So they go the hard way, I've gone that way countless times, and for such people, $1 a day is sometimes very huge!

I remember the first time I made that single $, on paper, and in life, it didn't mean much to me, but in my head, inspiration, motivation, it was a turning point!
I remember my first cent!!!
That’s what has led me to this point!
Of course, today it is a family.

But you'll understand what I mean.

I don’t want anyone to misunderstand me, but maybe, just maybe I could have been a millionaire if I had followed some normal paths through my journey.
I didn’t because I was grateful in those few years with the money I was making.
Anyway, I repeat once again...

That’s not good either because you feel relaxed, comfortable and of course you don’t take any action!
Why would I/you?
I have what I've been asking for... WRONG THINKING!

I did something but I wasn’t constant and it cost me everything.
This is only 5% of everything I want to tell you, but you will understand...

I wish you all the best @EcomKon
