randomly came across a reddit post saying some onlyfans prostitute scammed someone out of $500. this guy paid her for a sex tape which he never received.
some other guy says this same onlyfans prostitute claimed she needed money to pay her bills and he sent her $300

1) why would anyone pay for porn when it's available completely free (and no i am not the product because i have ublock origin)
2) why would anyone believe this story about her needing to pay her bills? and even if the story is true, how is that my problem? i have enough problems in my life, i am not going to pay some stranger's bill
wtf is wrong with men?

This is a genuine question.

Some people who don't get attention from females in their daily life seek 'paid' attention from women who do OF.

I also have heard cases where OF women who abuse their followers and berate them still get $$$ from their followers.

Maybe someone with a degree in psychology might be able to explain this weird phenomenon better.

As for your question, would someone pay for porn? Then yes, people do pay for porno.

I have an Austrian client who also happens to be a porn producer. His site sells paid porn and surprisingly people buy porn from him.

Though if he is to be believed, the number of people buying porno is going down every year.

So there is that.
 
People want what they can't have. Payment barrier is 1 way to do that.

People that would pay for that, likely can never have the real deal. Perhaps paying makes them feel closer to having the real deal?

Men dont pay for porn, they pay for woman attention/interaction. This is why Onlyfans has been so popular. Because what men are looking for is a personal experience with woman. So if she goes her way to make something special for me, it works. Or if you can talk to her directly, which you can't do in a regular porn video.

Of course this sucks. And its also heavily influenced by social media. We dont care anymore about real experiences. I paid to be in this porn group so this is real to me.

At the end of the day, its a way to get closer to what they can't have though.

Porn = Not fullfilling on relationship level
OF/porn payment barrier = trying to get closer to the human interaction stuff
Relationship = well it got all the real human stuff
 
For some people that is the only way to get any female interaction. Desperation and the need for instant gratification can make people go to any lengths.
 
For some people they have this easy option and also some people wants in own ways
 
Maybe some people pay for personalized content and direct interaction that free porn doesn't offer.
 
Some people may be impulsive consumers, as if water and protein were occupying the brain at the same time

Its kinda psychological issue in men when they dont get enough attention by their desired gender.

Paying someone for their sex tape is okay, as long as he doesnt approach others even after their refusal and he doesnt force anyone to accompany him. So paying someone is way better than committing a crime by forcing.

It's not the lack of a sex tape that's the issue, it's the lack of attention he was craving. Just like some women, certain men can be hard to understand. Let them go their own way, as long as they don't disturb others.

This is the only answer that's spot on - everyone is missing that people buying want a SPECIFIC person, not just the generic porn experience. They feel an attachment/overwhelming attraction to that person & are willing to pay for it.

According to research statistics people are more likely to spend impulsively at night, when I want to buy something, I usually do not operate after drinking or at night.

Especially if you've been drinking, you'll do it for the sentiment, for the classics, for the memories ..... Too much impulse.

Exactly this, it's kind of a pseudo-relationship that substitutes for a real one. Even funnily enough most of the time they're texting with hired chatters instead of the model.
