Why WordPress 5.5 is Breaking Sites

I used to only work with classic but I forced myself to learn Gutenberg and I’d never look back. It’s as good as elementor IMO

The thing is, my customers, that are not tech-savvy, get´s angry and complains when I don´t use the classic editor on their sites, that both them and I updates articles in, so it would be bad for business in my case to use Gutenberg only .. =)

Yeah I don’t like the new auto update feature. I like to manually backup my site before doing a batch of plugin updates cos shit can break. Not surprised it’s breaking sites
Auto-updates is not turned on by default. To use it you would go to Admin dashboard > Plugins and you will find an "Enable auto-updates" button to the right of each plugin. Or for themes Admin dashboard > Appearance > Themes - mouseover a theme and click more details. Then under the theme name and author is a text link to enable auto-updates. The feature is there but I don't want to use it. Why would anyone want to use it. You never know if the next update is the one that is easy to hack or breaks sites. I want to just wait a little and see what others are experincing first.

I'm not able to edit/create pages, it just shows up white screen

You can hide it, by turning autoupdate of completly, use a plugin like WP Config File Editor to turn the function of. Also for people that has it completly turned of, and can not see it, you can turn it on, so you have the function.

Thanks for the article, I could not upload images from a plugin after updating to the latest version of WordPress .

You might wanna try ClassicPress, a fork of WordPress without GB

I found by deactivating a schema plugin I was using solved the blank screen problem, and once it was updated worked again. Conflict with other non-updated plugins is the main cause of issues normally.

The idea of changing classic editor isn't great at all.A lot of sites like me have custom build fields that don't work with gutenberg
