So I have been having massive troubles getting Google and Yahoo to index my profile backlinks. I have pinged, created RSS and submitted and bookmarked and pinged, built backlinks to the profile pages, created a blogger blog and posted links to the profiles there and they still aren't indexed.

The thing that really gets me is that when all that failed I decided I'd just post links to them in a blog of mine that Google loves and crawls very often. The post with all of those links is indexed in Google and those links are d0 folow, yet Google still hasn't indexed my profile backlinks!

    What is going on lol?

Well if you're referring to forum profile backlinks, I think these kind of links are not counted as high value. Back in the day, people using xrummer hammered the crap out these kind of links and I think over time Google and Yahoo stop giving these link high value because of spammers. This could be a reason why.

This is speculation and a myth. My competition has nothing BUT forum links going to 7 websites he is ranking on page 1 of Google for, in the #1 position. Its all forum links and barely anything else. He has approx 300 of these per site. He ranks very highly and its almost impossible to knock him down. But im on a quest to get him.

So what you stated is a myth. If it was true, he would be ranked nowhere.

Would you please be kind and share your competitor's website to see these forum profile links indexed in Google.

BTW, I'm only speaking from "my" experience. I've had profile links blasted for weeks at a time non-stop and never had one actual backlink index in Google. They show in Google webmaster tools but never made it to be shown in Google by doing a
    HTML:
    link:www.mywebsite.com
    .

But then sometimes, I would do a backlink from a popular blog post and after 7 days it's showing in google by doing a
    HTML:
    link:www.mywebsite.com
Also, you guys trip me out as if ranking high in Google is all about backlinks, when in actuality, it's a very small part of it.

forum profile backlinks work great, especially if you aren't in a stupidly competitive niche. I have had a few small blasts done on some of my little pages most of which I hardly ever update and all on 1st page now. Problem is google won't find them by itself. Forum profile pages are notoriously hard to find!!!
go to this BHW thread lots of great ideas to get those links indexed. Especially take note of what rabbitgirl says. read the whole thread as stuff said at the start changes towards the end.

Ps BHW has a search feature, use it ;)

I obviously have read that thread given that I said in my original post that I have tried the exact method contained in that thread.

There is no need to give condescending advice about a search function especially if it leads to a route I've already taken.

Nothing has worked for me and I've tried all of the most popular/successful methods.

I can't understand how I have indexed a page in Google with links to those profiles but the profiles still aren't indexed. It's driving me crazy and holding me back.

It's true none of them gets indexed, but still gives you link juice since after rabittgirl's method is applied google will begin to crawl your site rapidly

***** YOU DO NOT NEED YOUR PROFILE BL TO BE INDEXED IN ORDER TO GET KICK OUT OF IT **************
They have to be spidered by the SE boot ant that is all.
Many people exaggerate and look for ways to index them when the truth is Google does not want to index them because forum profiles are crappy no content pages.
With billions of pages indexed, why would Google wanted to have those in their search results?
Yet, they do get noticed and they do count and do help rank because they were spidered and that is all you need.

these link are most of the cases blocked by robots.txt meaning that the section of the website where they are placed is not going to be indexed. Once again, most of the cases. you may want to check the website's robots.txt before spending time link building this way.

Are these profile links on websites where the profiles are "publicly" viewable (meaning you don't have to be signed in to your account to view them)?

Is this true? I always thought the link had to be indexed in order for it to count as a backlink.

What do you guys consider your profile links as being indexed in G? Do you go to G and type "site:url of your profile"? and hit Search. If it shows up then it's indexed? If not then not indexed. I don't think using the "link:yourwebsite" is very accurate. I never use that operator. What do you guys think?

    Where is pucky gone ?
to: pucky before you saying that his statement aout profile link is false you should show your competitors site or any other site of that kind as a proof. And the same time he is not saying 100% but his common sense is much respectable than denying it completely without evidence.

If it isn't working then you doing something wrong. I know because it wasn't working for me for a while I re-read the thread and changed a few things and it works. One of the things I had to change is use a proxy to connect to feedlistings as anything I posted from my normal ip got deleted within 5 minutes.. not sure why but there you go.

That is what I thought for a long time too. Then I found xrumer and everything changed :D

If you have ever tried xrumer service you would see that right after the blast, SERPs are improving yet there are no many indexed BL profiles to be found.
I never check if profiles are indexed or count them. I dont ping them either because sooner or later Google will spider the profile page and count the link.
I just check the SERPs and watch it improve over time as SE finds more and more profiles down the road.
Google will index small random procentage of profiles, that's all. If you could have unique content on your profile page, then it would be different story.
