Why Was My Thread Moved?

So one day you're just minding your own business when all of the sudden you receive an alert saying your thread has been moved. What gives?

Reasons We Move Threads​

There are two main reasons we move threads:

There's a more relevant subforum for your topic
Due to the vast number of subforums here, It's an easy mistake to make and even some of our senior members still make this mistake on occasion.

Your thread is off-topic
If you're posting about your home renovations or something personal, it belongs in the lounge. The lounge is where we move any thread we deem as being off-topic (i.e., not related to online marketing).

What If My Thread Was Moved To The Wrong Section?​

Our staff members have years of experience moderating this forum, and this includes moving threads to the correct sections on Black Hat World. Regardless of this experience, moderators can make mistakes when they move your thread (e.g., moving a public thread to the Jr. VIP Zone by mistake).

If you feel your thread was moved incorrectly, use the report button to ask for it to be moved to a more appropriate section or use our support desk at support.blackhatworld.com to contact our support team about the issue. Do not hijack another member's moved thread to inquire about your own situation.

Additionally, if you're told to go to our support desk, please do not continue contacting an arbitrary staff member in the thread you hijacked by shoving a link to your own thread in your next post in an attempt to force a non-support staff member to resolve your issue right then and there.

Be aware that moderators only seek to keep the forum organised the forum, and threads are not simply 'moved to sections to die'. If your thread is not moved after you request it, note that this is not the end of the world.

I agreed with Super Moderator @Zwielicht as his well replied on this topic.

A community is always previous and Admin of the Community never wanna get penalized community just because of poor & useless contents.

So this one the only reason to move a Thread because of irrelevance.

I think that it would make sense if mods dropped reasons (at least to guide newbies) while moving threads. i was a victim as well cos i thought you could just open a thread anywhere that you feel resonates with what you wanted to ask.

Yeah, bet you weren't expecting me to move your post to a more relevant thread in the newbie guide section.


It's for organisational purposes. A lot of members, including myself back when I joined the forum, visit specific subforums rather than browse the whole forum. Because of this, we want the forum to be as organised as possible for these members because, for example, a member browsing the Instagram section wouldn't necessarily want to view a bunch of threads on Cryptocurrency.

moved your thread, as it is a networking problem. After all isn't the Internet just a large network. You will get more and better help in Networking & Wireless, as there are many people who answer questions in the support forums, that never go near the Cafe.

It's very right, because sometimes it's so hard to find the information you need, you even get angry, so it's right to help users first...

This is right, because very often there are situations when you can't find useful information for this very reason. Although it may be more convenient to create a more global search by keywords or phrases.
