Why use whitehat methods?

What about, why use Black Hat Methods? Using White Hat methods basically gives no or close to no probability of getting banned on a particular network or system.

LOL i guess ur in the wrong forum mr white hat?

I will use ur sentence and say this:

Using White Hat methods basically gives no or close to no probability of making money on a particular network or system.

Only Google currently no longer defines white hat as "doing the right thing," if it ever did. It defines optimizing a site to rank in the search engines as artificial, aka unnatural, and will now likely DE-rank you for over-optimization. The false moral superiority WH is supposed to have over BH is now passe, as G treats either as web spam.

You are simply wrong. Google is very clear that link building by promoting your business in a normal manner on the web is not the same as back-linking to influence the SERPs. Why do you think relevancy and quality play so important a part in the algo?

First off, SEO wise your on-page must be correct for them to even understand what the web-page is about. Without that people will come to your site looking for something not there.

The idea that you are not supposed to link on the internet is absurd, it can't exist without links.

Linking your business with Linked-in, Facebook, Twitter, your suppliers, your business associates, players in your niche, discussions about your niche, and so on will not hurt you because it is a normal thing for a real business to do. Commenting on related publications is business promoting, not spam.

Real business sites don't have link wheels wrapped around them, or build thousands of links consistently. They don't link to crap places and spun articles. If they publish, what they publish is top notch, their business reputation is on the line.

You will never get punished for behaving like a business and participating in your niche.

Without further contention, I'll just say it again:

"The white hat true believers, who assert Google does not punish quality sites that avoid black hat, should do a wee bit more review of threads on this forum, to find hundreds of examples to the contrary. 100% WH sites are being hammered all over the place these days, that's just a fact. Google simply does not support using SEO as a long term business model for small IM sites, despite the rhetoric to the contrary. It wants people to eventually move from getting free organic traffic to paying for it through PPC or other advertising."

U are completely wrong. u dont know the difference between an algo penalty and a manualy review.

if u do 100% white hat seo u probably wont be penalized in terms of algo. manualy review sites are kinda different as far as i understand. conclusion? do black hat :)

White hat is for those who want high rankings for more than a few weeks.

Blackhat is for people who think they can achieve the same result(using automated methods) as white hat in less amount of time and in the process the quality is compromised and sites tend to get penalized.

While doing blackhat, if you give importance to quality over the quantity the result would be fruitful.
