Why this guy are not monetizing youtube videos?

Hi Guys!
I'm starting to dig into youtube world and I found this guy "Len Ken"...
He has a pretty anonymous Youtube channel since 29 June 2016 and his video are all about talent shows with a huge amount of visualization, anyway I played almost 10 of them and I've seen none spots that it means no monetization, I am right?
Last video charged was 5 days ago, so he still maintaining his channel.
Socialblade stats speak clear about bought subs and views from what I can see.

So my question is: why do that?
He is collecting as many views and subs since more than one year waiting to monetize his channel all in one shot and get it closed sooner or later?

Anyone can help me to understand?

Why should one care always about income? I had colleges with great YT accounts but they don't really bother about income, even after I thold them they can and it's easy they said like "meeh, I don't bother, those videos got incidentally viral but I don't wanna maintain this channel forever so I don't give a damn."

mmm It seems strange to me because he just upload viral videos without care about the channel estetics and not contribute with any comments... So he use this channel like a playlist. Imho if someone actions are moved by passion, this should be done with more care than this.
I feel that I missing the point.
But maybe you are right and I'm just looking for something that simply there's not...
