i'm doing totally whitehat craigslist technique...i don't cheat anyone to make them signup for my offers, however.. i have 3 questions

1- should i tell amy affiliate manager that i'm using craigslist
2- why the advertisers don't accept craigslist traffic
3- should i feel guilty about advertising on craigslist although i'm using whitehat technique, converting well and giving the advertisers quality leads exactly what they want

I wouldn't tell my AM's that im using CL to drive traffic to my offers. Some reasons why networks don't allow CL traffic is because they are either doing it themselves (they don't want more competition) or the advertiser doesn't allow it as they think CL is not profitable for their offers. If you're going to use CL, make sure your traffic somewhat converts (greyhat leads). Else, you will be dropped by the advertiser or possibly from the network.

its because lots of cl traffic dont make profit for the advertiser or too much complaint
 
It's also possible that they don't want CL traffic so they can weed out potential scammers or fraudsters. ;) They know that people create fake postings for the sake of earning money, and this can have a negative effect on their business if someone reports the scammer and the offer that they're promoting. If your company was affiliated with a scammer, what do you think that would do to your sales? To your reputation? It's probably more of a reputation and liability thing instead of a competition thing....
 
And because of all the SPAM that is related to craigslist methods...even if your method is legit, you probably still going to want to post 50 to 100 ads a day...or email A LOT of people advertising on craigslist...The networks do not want to condone SPAM as a way for them to get leads, weather quality leads are produced or not..
 
It's all about the reputation of the company, and lead quality. If they openly accept Craigslist traffic, every newbie will be sending them people via obvious and horrible spam, which has awful conversions and can bring heat down on the advertisers.
 
Well I guess I can agree with this and I think that most of the lists they gather through craigslist don't convert that good.

i sell traffic from clist and other online sources and measure constantly... i dont tell my sales force whats what and i ALWAYS get same conversion %'s

a lead is a lead is a lead.... people are just scared of what they do not understand... tell noone... mix in some other sources and when they start converting noone will care.

If you want to advertise in Craigslist you have to maintain some rules to get legal Technics.I have some legal Technic to bring leads.For contact skype id is pallabi.92 .....

Because cl could easily sue them for free advertisement
 
No, don't tell your a/m. I've been running about 40 ads a day through CL Autopilot, clautopilot (d0t) n e t
I get a ton of leads, 90% from CL, but my a/m doesn't need to know my secrets ... he's not telling me his!
 
Not nice bumping old threads but if anyone is looking for answers to these questions here it is .

1.You can tell , there's no problem with it as long as the traffic converts however if advertiser is very strict about CL you better don't tell and cloak your traffic .
2.Mainly because the traffic is shit and it don't convert . Most publishers just want to cheat people into signing up to their offers and offering something in return , these leads are usually poor quality and do not convert.
3.No you shouldn't feel guilty if you are doing everything right and your traffic is good , you should feel really good :)
 
I'd use a cloaker for all purposes when getting traffic from Craigslist.
