why spam sites rank

I see sites ranking in my niche and some are there for months top positions almost all keywords with hundreds thousands backlinks even some have 1mil+ from like 1000-2000 domains and more. Google doesnt do a sh*t about it why is that if someone can tell? these sites are old 1 year or 1 and half year but its obvious their links are spam i dont understeand why they not penalized yet, and my site droped in rank and penalized i wasnt even ranking top with just few hundred links. I not cry, started new site and im not seo expert just trying new things, but its not fair lol

I can tell you that you can learn alot of things from your competion, especially in IM stuff.

I can tell you that you can learn alot of things from your competion, especially in IM stuff.

I do not know what to say, but these two should really get banned for this kind of nonsense(i know it is the lounge). OP is just trying to get some help here and these two are just bringing him down.

OP could answer these things:

How strong is the competition? Do you see allot of sponsored(adwords) ads?
Do you see some huge brands on the first page?
How much links have each website in the top 5, besides the one that you mentioned.

Who should get banned ? These guys made me laugh and they know the game. This is not the Google webmasters forum.

Breaking your nuts to provide quality content and user engagement and getting outranked by crappy sites is what drove most of us here in the first place.

Google is a machine, just work out how to fool it.

I love quality content but dont presume for one second that, thats enough to get ranked.

Old as in the domain is old, or old as in they have ranked for 1 - 1.5 years? A lot of people now use old domains to do churn and burns instead of new domains.

I'm in this situation right now, and following the advice of those two evil posters I nipped up the fields rolled down my wellies and got kicked in the nuts by a goat.

but I would pick another niche because it will be hard competing with someone who has 1mil + links

OP - If you want to make it work, you need more than a few projects, and you need to test a lot of different strategies and see what works. Yes, spam sites are still a thing in 2015, and I bet they will also appear in 2016 too!
