Okay, basically I created a blog some of you may now about my n00b questions I already posted here. And here I come again with another noob question. Why so much spam?

My blog is almost 10 days old, I made it in top 1 for my main keyword but it only has 800 monthly searches, so easy. I also made it somewhere in the top 10 for another keyword wich gets around 3000 searches.

The problem is I`m getting lots and lots of spam comments with their stupid websites. Around 80 per day. I delete their website and approve their comment, but what do they win by doing this? My website is PR 0 . I only have 430 backlinks, why are they posting on my blog ? They won`t get quality backlinks so no juice for them. I have askmiet... and the comment are not a pain in the ass I like to delete their websites and approve comments at least I have something to do I just wanna know what`s the deal here?

Hungry world out there is all bro. Plus you have mega amounts of indians with no clue on what to do so they hit everything!

Haa! Get used to it or get a better security plugin. I'd say, just disable the comments, they won't bring you that much benefit.

Someone could have been building third tier links or your site might have been added to an auto-approve scrapebox list.

It's a numbers game. Thats what automated tools like scrapebox are for.

Never allow comments is my policy. The spam is just too much to deal with, inless yiou take the time and trouble to really filter them.

Part of the deal, either stop them or delete them.

BY approving even 1 unrelated post, you invite thousands

It comes with the territory...

It's pretty much like buying a car and then saying, "Aren't the roads busy; people should buy less cars..." Or maybe it's more like grumbling about the price of petrol...

I'm not criticising; you said you don't mind, but it just IS.

Use your WordPress options to only allow registered authors with 2 accepted posts to comment or something. Then nothing ever gets through. Once in a while, if it's a worthwhile site, you can accept some good comments to make it look more social/interactive. Don't waste time on them though; spend the time marketing and building links yourself.

5 buks a month and you can stop Indian invasion by killing 99% of them

akismet all the way

what do you buy for 5 bucks a month?

oh Comment spam prevention

can you give me your url, so i can add it to my scrapebox list ;-)

There are a couple of antispam wordpress plugins which are good, that or turn off comments completely (what I have done).

I don`t know about turning off comments, I want people to know it`s a good blog and stuff so if there were no comments they would think my blog is shit and no one watches.

Just disable the URL field and delete any comment that drops a URL, you can also implement a captcha and a number of other security plugins.

If you want to be really aggressive at stopping spam, this post I wrote might help you:

Was just gona post what the_demon just said, use askimet and turn that spam into new content, Google likes blogs that get fresh comments, use it to your advantage OP ;)

Every one tries their own ways to make money so you cant stop them from commenting but what you can do is either delete all the comments or close the comments part.

Yeah, well I need comments as dog-tag and the_demon said . So I will do as I did so far delete their URLs and then approve their comments.

If you are approving stupid assed unrelated comments you are doing your site harm.

Bt all means approve all the ones that take time to contribute to your conversation,. but "I really like the way you handled this subject, and I will return to read your posts, Great work" is useless for your site.
