Why so much people still using Skype

Skype is far far better than Telegram. Personally I don't want to use telegram but still have to.

Skype is evergreen- Old is gold.

I use skype, and for the most part i like it.

I mean, for fucks sake, you wanna talk on whatsap? So you wanna torture me forcing me to type on mobile? I cant even spell whatsap. Is it whatsap? Is it whatsapp? Is it watsap? Ok its not the last one, but still, no bueno.

I like skype.

I see gaypal mentioned in the thread. Fuck you gaypal!!!!!!

I also ask the same question all the time. When will people stop using these spyware companies like microsoft and gaypal.

Its still kind of a mainstream messaging and call service in the digital industry.
Although i prefer telegram i mainly use skype for conference calls and messaging with big clients and partners as majority uses skype for comunication.

Believe it or not, a lot of people still use ICQ.

If that sounds familiar, you’re old.

ICQ has been around for a very long time and people still use it.

I suspect that the reason why Skype still has users, despite the fact that Telegram and WhatsApp are more popular, has something to do with force of habit.

Think of it this way: if you’ve been using a tool for so long, it might seem like a hassle to try something new.

Even though the new options out there might have better features, there is such a thing as “personal inertia.”

It just feels like it takes too much effort to switch products or change things up.

Also, people have a certain emotional attachment to Skype and other tools.

Sure, they’re not going to tell this to your face, but it’s still a factor.

Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe they have happy memories using that tool.

Whatever the case may be, don’t underestimate the importance of “subconscious” reasons.

Skype is free and best to chat on one to one basis

I very rarely use it now but you are right, lots of sellers here use it as the preferred method of communication I guess it’s the most universally accessible in terms of device, platform type etc. Personally I don’t like it though it feels outdated and clunky.

Exactly. And its not like there are many other good messaging clients for PC.
I prefer Telegram and Discord, these days. Both work wonderfully on desktop platforms.

hmm. why not? It is a great tool and I have plenty of active contacts there, it just works.

Well, yeah, businesses around the world are dying to use a platform made from some Russian dudes living in exile in Dubai. :)

Fair remark.
But I'm not trying to say that no one is using it.
I wonder why, given that the platform is outdated

Slack > Skype

I've hated Skype for years. Pain in the arse of a program.
