Why so many doubts in GSA?

I have been thinking of using GSA as my tier 1. Not blast or for churn and burn project. Something like 10 links per day. But most people here say,
"GSA is not good for tier 1"
"Google hates GSA links"
I see most services here use the same tool for clients tiers and they thank seller as if they won a lottery.
Still at the end, if you mention the tool, the other party will shout No.
The most amusing thing is, someone bragged in a CPA site and I asked him, if he used the tool, he told me to stay away from it. He shared a link of where he bought his backlinks. I placed order, but all links were the most shity kind of links, I have ever seen.
I won't even deliver that to someone if I operate the tool with my eyes closed.

i use GSA and like it.
but i also use it for tier 2 and 3.
i think it should be no problem as tier one as long you keep the link quality high .... contextual links .. but i did set up my gsa quite basic and so i just run on tier 2-3-4.
 
The reason it is not recommended to use as tier 1 is because most links will be lost in no time. Not a good signal to search engines.
 
I share my current thoughts on the tool in this post in a thread from a few days back. I have also spent an hour or two looking into the differences between link pyramids using auto generated content and human made content and the human made content is outperforming it on every target page.

Take them with a pinch of salt, I have always thought they were just burner accounts owned by the service owner to bump their threads.
 
I've read Shauns blog to get a good understanding of the software, and it's working well for me, I even use it for my moneysites.

I do, not sure where this mentality has gone. I don't recommend buying a random list and blasting your moneysite with it.

Carefully massage the sweet link nectar all over your moneysites beautiful exterior, making sure you're gentle and considerate in the process. Don't be heavy handed with it, but don't be stingey with it either.
 
I am using GSA. it works like charm.
Let me share my method.
Get a .com domain as your main domain
Then clone that site using using .org, .net, .xyz domains
Keep the main domain's backlinks clean ( .com domain )
Now, GSA Blast
do a gsa blast on .org, .net, .xyz domains
Your .org, .net, .xyz domains will get penalized or you will see their ranking drop.
Now , 301 Redirect the .org, .net, .xyz domains to the .com domain. :)
 
The other person thinks we are in 2010. I use GSA though, but I get pissed off when links don't Index.
Mind you, I used indexer shared on Shaunm blog. Maybe I need to wait forever in order to get results.

I am doing this with good success, but I keep it very slow and like you said a few select engines. My niches aren't that competitive, so I only need 30-40 RD to dilute my anchor text at the max. Usually my properties aren't ready for 30-50 days anyway, so you can imagine now slow my linkbuilding is.
 
I've used GSA two years before just for tier 2 links. Nowadays there is reason to use GSA, as there are many alternatives that can also give you Tier 1 and Tier 2+ links.
 
I have no issue using GSA on tier1/2/3/4/. Just that when setting up GSA, make sure that the articles for Tier 1 is human readable , or at least it makes sense. Otherwise, if you send mumbo jumbo articles to the sites, they will simply remove those articles, etc, and in the end, not many quality links were build in the process. GSA can be used on Tier1, but you will definitely need to spend time setting that up appropriately, in order for it to be effective. Using a quality link list would also help.

what? I would never waste human written article on dead gsa websites
