Why should I buy a VPS?

Whats up fellow blackhats

So I have been lurking in this forum for a few months now. Purchased scapebox, scrapeboard, market samuri, tweet adder 3, bookmarking demon, rank builder, amr, ect...

I run all this shit right off my computer. We have a pretty good connection, so i usually just go with the standard 50 connections for scrapebox fast poster, 100 connections for trackbacks.

Everyone here is always talking about how they use this and that on a VPS. Virtual Private Server.... right?

What is the benefit in this? How much do they generally cost? If you guys could try to sell me on it, and then also try to talk me out of it, it would be great. Thanks in advance.

Well, VPS are usually equipped with fast internet connection.
So without a doubt, you can finish your backlinking task way faster than using a home's connection.
Also, your computer would be free from all these resource-hogging softwares which grants you freedom.
 
I cant believe it after u mention u buy all those tools and u dont know the difference between vps etc .. anyways first of all VPS is shared resource say quad core machine having 4 vps then vps is 1/4 of a quad core machine so its a shit unless is it self not powerful as quad core in resources so better go for dedicated server , 2nd u mentioned ur connection is damn good then why the hell u want to opt a VPS simply upgrade ur cpu and motherboard if required only in scenario if all tools making much heat.. i hope it will clear for you now else google more about VPS and open ur eyes mate.
 
I found lot of webmasters complaining the resources provided with a VPS server but as running a Dedicated server is out of budget there are many hosting vendors providing Semi-Dedicated Server hosting services which works as a Dedicated server for less cost.
 
I guarantee you not one of the people on this forum started out doing SEO on a VPS or a dedicated server. Everyone starts out on their own personal machine. Which is why i was asking why people "upgrade" to a server. Im running a i7-2600K @ 3.4GHz and 16GB of ram, so i guess ill just stick with my local machine.

I m on same machine that u are using only difference is i use 40 ips and 1gbps libe its able to run my own bots like aol , yahaoo creator tools like Xrumer etc nothing laggs all smooth.. glad u got ur answer that the thing i m tried to mention if connection and resources are good u wont need a dedi or vps simply
 
Another good reason: If you use browser based tools like SenukeX or Zennoposter it will help to prevent pickung up some viruses from various websites.

This is a big reason, but you really should have strong AV / security on your machine regardless.

Another thing, tools like SENuke use IE settings for proxies, so if your running a SENuke job in the background, you could be changing IP's every few minutes which can get annoying when using services that don't work well with that.

Some of these tools can really use a lot of cpu when you are running jobs, for example running AMR with 100 threads.

I have other machines setup that are dedicated to it. I am not a big fan of VPS for this type of thing, but if you don't have the hardware/bandwidth, it is the best option. I have my own data center locally, so I can just drop hardware there in a rack I am already paying for anyway. I also have a 30mbit/30mbit Internet connection here, so I have a few boxes here.
 
Are there more security issues with using it on your own machine compared with a vps?

A VPS is a lot more secure since if it gets compromised it isn't your machine that gets hacked. Most people don't put proper security in place, especially on VPS machines.

Most VPS are relatively secure against other VPS units from the same provider because of the way VPS units work. That doesn't mean they are secure in general though.

I personally don't trust putting questionable tools on a third parties server unless it is dedicated to me only, they have access and can log into the box at any time, especially when troubleshooting a problem.
 
a good point to use a vps is:
- you can leave all the programs run in automatic mode for 7days on 7 and not cure it about a "fire surriscaldation problem" eheheheh
 
Also on a VPS you can get complaints and just get disconnected.

But if you get your home internet disconnected its definitely a bigger problem.
 
I run my tools on a VPS for two reasons, speed and the ability to run apps 24/7 if I want. I work of a laptop travelling for work. The VPS lets me have tools going despite me being behind corporate firewalls in the day and sometimes unfriendly hotel isp's at night.

I see this as a great reason to get a VPS. At least for those people like me who still hold a regular job. -- that you can run your tools from anywhere. Even from work.

I just recently purchased SB and MS. and I'm still getting to know these tools, so maybe in the near future I'll look into a VPS provider.... Anyone have any good recommendations?

VPS is good for all the tools you listed but dont use VPS for xrumer. VPS is cheaper and hide yur location for a lot of reasons

if your finding that your not able to accomplish all your im work because your computers resources are always maxed out - then you need a vps. if your able to get your work done without having to wait hours for your computers resources to be freed up - you don't need a vps.
