Why redditors grow karma to insane limits. Example

I didn't find any links to monetize traffic in their accounts, as well as these users don't have their own subs to gain subscribers.
The only thing that comes to my mind is the subsequent sale of such accounts.
Can you tell me why they constantly post content to other people's subs and how they benefit from it?

Karma doesn't have any impact after a certain amount, so farming 10k+ karma is pointless for sales.
 
to sell them, if is doing everything by hand maybe the price per account is high because is selling quality of account but could be for a specific type of people for how high is the karma or maybe someone that contribute a lot for an specific sub redit, maybe posting guides or something like a top contributor

Either for selling or just being a redditor. True redditors live for karma. Or maybe he is just young and is trying to be "famous". Lots of potential reasons.
 
It also confuses me why people use Reddit without any a motive.

Some people think karma is like a game and get addicted to it. Or he is trying to sell it eventually, but I don't know who needs 20K karma to promote. 1K or 5K is sufficient for most ha
 
To gain respect in the community maybe ? Who knows what's is in their mind.
 
Redditors are largely mentally ill lunatics who are completely detatched from the real world. They have a hivemind and cannot think for themselves, therefore they place a huge value on the score of groupthink (karma).
