Human brains embrace the ‘why’ behind things.

Because a solid ‘why’ cements a loop inside your brain.

When we are informed of something, without a back-up explanation, it keeps badgering us subconsciously.

Sure - you know the information intellectually, but don’t really believe it.

And that’s exactly why reasons are super crucial when crafting copy - your audience MUST believe in your product before you expect them to buy it.

So the next time you’re crafting copy for some product / service, back up all your claims:

“This secret will soon be taken down from the internet because Fortune 500 CEOs don’t want you to have it”

“These shoes are limited in stock because we didn’t expect such massive demand”

“We will take only 10 interns because we want only the most driven people to join us”

Such reasons can also help you drum up effective urgency, exclusivity, and scarcity.

And once you’ve closed their brain loop, prospects realize and trust why you’re doing the things you’re doing.

Remember: these reasons don’t always have to be super logical. Lame excuses work fine as well:

“Get this pair of luxurious shoes, because YOU DESERVE IT”

How many times you bought products seeing such sentences? Chances are, you’ve done it a lot.

Even though that sentence isn’t logical, it impacts the reader emotionally - inflates their ego, which leads to the purchase.

And here’s why:

People buy on emotion, and justify the purchase with logic.

And as Jordan Belfort preaches:

Coming back to the point:

Provide more reasons. Close more loops. Earn more trust. Sell more stuff.

I don't know. Every time I come across a title with a "what x (eg: the gov, the 1 %) don't want you to know" I roll my eyes.

A very logical thread OP, I had to use the thanks button because you deserve it.

You my friend, are intelligent enough to slice through that bullshit.

I remember big-name copywriters pulling that trick on me.

I somewhat thought I was being tricked, but got into it anyways.

It is more effective when the person reading is genuinely concerned about the 'help' - product / service.

Thanks for inflating my ego, mate. Cheers.
