Why Promote Google Chrome?

While getting backlinks to my site, i constantly saw links to this site:

so this guy has a PR 1 and is promoting G chrome...

thing I wanna know is Why? chrome needs no promotion.. and he does not have any ads on his site.

what can he possibly gain from promoting chrome?

EDIT: NEVERMIND lol he linked to real google, so he didnt bind my bad, so i have no idea why he is promoting it..

he maybe binded it with a ppi exe file? ;)

$6-$150 per 1k unique download, but thats ppi and i wont discuss it here there is a forum for that called pay-per-install.org wich i think is owned by harro.

maybe he just didn't have anything to do with the domain except redirect it to the real chrome. but after the trust builds he can just change it,
 
There is a whois lookup for a reason, ask him. :)
 
the whois does not show anything.. his email is hidden by dreamhost.

cookie stuffing is a good idea.. any one know how i can find out if im cookie stuffing?
