OK - I'm looking through Flippa (I'm UK Based) and I see some fairly decent margains for webmasters, i.e. $2-10k per website and I'm sat there thinking to myself what a rubbish site - yet I can't get £200 for a website that generates 50 unique visitors per day, over 1,200 members generating £10-30 in sales with no SEO (PR 2)....What am I missing?

    Why do people buy rubbish?

    Good marketing.

    *EDIT*

I believe there was an old saying that goes something like

"I'm such a good salesman I could sell refrigerators to Eskimos!"

The best product in the world won't mean a thing if you can't sell it. A product or service doesn't have to be good for people to buy it. You just have to convince people that it's what they need in their lives. Of course a good product with good marketing is a great deal for everybody, so do that instead.

As stated above, a lot of sellers on flippa are great marketers, and will always sell sites, even if they are crap.

Which flips the question - if you had an earning website would you sell it? I wouldn't - is it even worth flipping sites? as it just falls on how good your pitch is not how good the website is.
