Why on earth does IG delete my post?

Hi, about two week ago I created an account which features short funny videos. I repost videos from tiktok etc. and always give credits to the orginal creators.

I wanted to grow this account 100% organically. So I didn't do any botting and I use my home wifi only. And of course no fake followers/likes etc.

It was going fine. Until today, when I uploaded a video, it was immediately deleted. And IG asked me to verify my account through phone message. I did that and was back to my account. I tried to post the video again, and it was immediately deleted again.

This video was completely normal, nothing inappropriate or offensive, so I have no idea why this would happen. I checked the hashtags, and they were very normal hashtags also, like "viralvideo".

I did use the "report a problem" function to tell IG about it and who knows if they'd ever answer anything.

I know IG has been acting up quite a lot lately, as shown in this board; but if it gets this ridiculous, I don't know if I should bother with it any more.

If there was a song in the video this could be the reason.

Copyrighted songs get videos taken down within seconds.

Because they think it's spam. Do some testing to find out what causing this, since you're on wifi with I'm guessing a dynamic IP, it could be your device.

Why would they think it's a spam if I don't post often, nor do I do more than 20 follow/like/comment a day?

IMO instagram can find that you are reposting content from TikTok
Try to cover the logo of TikTok and try to post it again.

It happend me few times too, when i was reposting Tv series content - Suits, from original SuitsUSA instagram account, within a few seconds i posted the content from their page it get removed.
So IMO if you will be able to cover the TikTok logo, or simply change something in the video it should be good to go.

But i am not sure, since i didn't bother with the copy strike, i just shared different post.

Have a great day!

Thank you man very much as always.

I didn't know it's an issue for IG if I repost content. But how about those feature accounts? How come they don't have any problems? Sorry I am fairly new with IG :)

Sure I could cover the logo. I actually thought it's good to have it so it's less likely to have copyrights problem. That's why I also always mentioned it in the caption that it's from tiktok. I mean, compared to me making it look like it's my original video.

Now I am really confused about this copyrights issue. How about those big viral video reposting accounts, like @lmao @randomvideos ? How come they have been doing fine?

Could anyone explain about the difference? Thanks a lot!

My theory:
Since you are reposting from instagram and mention the owner of the content, then it's alright, that's what all big pages does (sometimes they don't even mention the owner, but whatever).
But if you try to repost from instagram, from some big corporation like i mentioned SuitsUSA → then they have something on their posts (i don't know this for sure), which will flag the copyright and then instagram will know this post is not yours.

From the TikTok
Since i went through these two accounts you mentioned above, i've not seen any content from TikTok.
Also as you can see almost every other video is remodeled with the white background + text + emoji.
(it brings more attention or can cover the users copyright)

But back to TikTok,
i belive that it has some hidden copyright which can Instagram identify.

1. The latest video on @lmao, for example, was from tiktok. I know it because I actually posted the same video earlier than @lmao did.

2. And thank you very much for your explanation. It makes sense. So to avoid the problem, should I actually purposefully cover the "marks" which could tell where the videos come from instead of making the source obvious? Would I run into copyrights problems later though if I make it look like they are all my videos?

3. There are several youtube accounts I know of which simply repost tiktok videos and have been growing crazily: each video could have millions of views. Maybe IG has different policies on this matter?

4. And why did they ask me to do phone message verification to get into my account after deleting my video? Did this have anything to do with copyrights issue? Or does this suggest that it's more likely they just suspect I was spamming (by their strange logic)?

Okay, I tried to upload a completely different video and even switched to mobile data. The new video was deleted immediately again.

I also notice the previous posts which were getting likes/views rapidly stopped getting any new views/likes right after IG deleted my new post.

Wtf is this seriously? I tried to be as careful as possible with this new account without doing anything "inauthentic", and it ended up worse. SMH.

New update: I made a text post simply saying IG doesn't allow me to upload new videos at this moment. Well, that was posted successfully lol

This makes no sense, why would Instagram give a shit? They probably love the content and engagement it creates.

atm in US law no company can be held accountable for the content users post, and there's now way tiktok scrapes all of Instagram to find copyrighted content.

Even if that was the case, and they found a way to file a DMCA takedown for every copyrighted post, it'll likely take days from the time of posting.

OP, it is most likely your device, or it could be an algorithm false positive. If you didn't break any of their TOS, contact Instagram and explain the issue.

Thank you for your answer! Yah I was thinking that the other accounts which repost tiktok videos on IG and YouTube have been doing fine and many of their reposted videos have tiktok logo all over the place. So I have no idea why this has happened to me.

And what do you mean it could be my device? I just use my phone for posting, what could be the problem with it?

I did wrote to them with the "report a problem" function on IG. Do they ever reply to this? And if so, through what?

Someone replied the following in another board:

"I’m seeing this problem too but I’m using original video some are being sent directly to me from the original poster and I did tests where some are my own. They are all getting deleted. Its not video from tik tok or other sites. Also not all music. My pictures upload and stay up fine. Instagram is really screwing up on this new update. I have a feeling their AI algorithm is out of control it’s not human and cannot make all decision properly. They are going to have a lot of angry people in the long run. Remember this post lol."

Lmao seriously. Lucky for IG, that they don't have serious competitor at this moment.

You have to wait a few days like i did but i think they are cracking down on reposting or something so im going to start adding my own twist to videos like meme style

Good point The thing is I worry if I edit the video to look more like mine, IG can fuck my account up too for copyright issues lol.
