I am surprised why noone talks about such huge change in google image search. Actually they just copied a whole thing from BING. So i decided to create a thread ( sorry if i missed any created).

I personally lost 25% o traffic (even thought google images do not convert OK - yet still it is nice to have additional traffic).

Well, i used iframe breaking script to get all my images traffic to my website ( redirects automatically once user clicks on my image while still in google search) (it is not working anymore)

Google uses OUR content to fill their pockets! i am pissed!

Well : oficial link : http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.ca/2013/01/faster-image-search.html

PS. i already figured out how to get most of my images traffic back.

Many webmasters are JUST pissed about such drastic change :

Care to share how you found a solution for getting your images traffic back? I too used to use a frame break to get the traffic to my main page

This post sums it up well. Alarming!!

When a user googles an image they are given 3 options; the first sends
them right onto our site, the second gives them the image on a black
screen, which is hosted by us but is just the file so none of our
site(or ads) is displayed, and the third links the user back into the
google search engine and shows them other websites with the same image.
So web owners have a 33% chance of having someone visit their site in
its full context. We have already seen a 30% drop in our numbers over
the last couple days. This change is not good for publishers
.

Edit: More posts that ring true:

I should search more often and see what comes up, it turns out I still rank good but people don't need to open my site, I am sure copyright laws have been broken, what they did is one massive site with all images, they suppose to serve search results not create THEIR OWN CONTENT

The solution to this problem is simple. Block Google from taking your images. If you can't monetize your images, or at least get traffic from sharing them with Google, there is no sense giving it to them. Google's monetization of webmasters continues in earnest now that the FTC rolled over and died...

This sucks.

But actually a site found a ingenious solution to take most of the traffic back. its fansshare dot com, search on G images the domain name and then find one of their pictures, click and you'll see a watermark that fade out the image with the title "click for full resolution" - will take the user to the page with that image.

Maybe someone can share the redirect script with us.

How many times have you done an image search, clicked on an image only to be redirected to a malware infected page prior to the update?

I feel for the webmasters who lost traffic but I can understand why they have revamped the image search

It really sucks because you basically can't look up porn anymore.

I suppose you're right. Although, I use mozilla+better privacy, and a mac.... I really never look at the content on a page when I'm searching for an image, I just look at the image...

As a user, I find this annoying. The results are worse.

As a user its good may you dont like it coz its new... But for webmaster who were mostly based on Google Images traffic is facing huge Crisis.. Pity for them.

What? The Black Hatters haven't worked out a solution?

The world needs you!

This sucks, i had 95% visitors coming from google images, I lost 2/3 of my visitors! :(
