Why MySpace Lost Popularity

What do you think actually caused MySpace to decline?
Was it Facebook, design issues, or something else?

Facebook killed MySpace, most users moved to Facebook. I guess Facebook was better at "social networking" then MySpace.
 
Facebook was a beast when it showed up at the party. It lasted longer than it's contemporaries too. While Pinterest lost the opportunity to be the social media platform for media content, facebook acquired Instagram at the right time and captured the users who want to dump their smartphone pics. They understood the users better while Myspace remained same.
 
You had better options on other sites that had better features.
 
Lost users because of weak engagement and weak updates with growing interest in Facebook.
 
In my opinion, MySpace became too outdated and was too slow to adapt to changing user trends, which caused it to lose the majority of its user base.
 
it failed due to its inability to grow at an adequate rate.
 
The platform stopped feeling fresh. Once users started leaving, the network effect worked against them
 
MySpace ultimately became irrelevant for two reasons. It consistently released poor updates that frustrated users, and it had to compete with social media giants that had more experienced developers and teams.
 
In my opinion, MySpace has become outdated and has not kept pace with the evolving preferences and expectations of modern users.
 
Slight market share and little design innovation led to the fall.
 
Other social media sites created better user experiences and took users from Myspace.
 
If your asking me. It has a clunky design. Still to some degree does. And also, it didnt have the best of reps. It was just as (or the user base) trashy. And they, like facebook. DId little to help. Although they may, MAY. Have shilled for the CIA. If you wanna put it that way. All 'good' messagers systems or standalone messagers do it at some point...
 
In my opinion, MySpace has become outdated and hasn't kept up with the changing needs and expectations of today's users.
 
I think the MySpace development team failed to keep up with modern trends, which is why the platform has become outdated compared to today's leading social media platforms.
