I guess they mean sites like forbes, lifehacker, engadget and so on... problem is how to get them...
They are people offering that service on BHW.
They could be DAMN expensive tbh

Already did 10 links mate. As I said, Keyword is moving up and went back to previous position. stucked at #9. I'll add more content and through some social signals as well. thinking to do 10 web 2.0s with tier 2 and 3 links. What is your thought about it?
Site speed is Grade B a/c to pingdom (screenshot: http://prntscr.com/g6yt2v). Not sure about technical issues I'm very bad at all these web development things. Yes. All affiliate links are nofollow. and authority outbounds links are do-follow. Things to add more content and more web 2.0s with tiers. This might help a bit.
Do you suggest to go for web 2.0s or Editorial/legit links? You opinion would be appreciated.
Np. Will wait mate.
Thanks for contributing buddy.
Try getting a link from Forbes, Yahoo and such. They tend to be expensive, but one maybe all you need to get to number one. Also, be careful using publicly sold PBN links, for all will leave a footprint regardless of what the seller says. Keep in mind we have Google spies on this forum! The biggest footprint is that the sites have too many outbound links.what is strong editional link ?
Please check how many of your diversity links are actually indexed. If you've bought diversity packs from here or from some other service, I can assure you that most of the links aren't indexed unless you've done something to index them.
A majority of your links not being indexed could also mess up your anchor ratios. AHREFS and majestic show a LOT of links that aren't indexed by Google so you can't really rely on the anchor ratios they show. If you gave your main keyword as an anchor for a diversity pack, it's highly likely that you're over-optimised.
If you're at #9, you may not need any more PBN links. Another diversity pack with brand and naked URL anchors might give you much better results.
You could also try reducing your main keyword density and re-crawling your site to see if that makes a difference. I've seen major changes just by altering the keyword density.
Before spending any more money, check whether your links are indexed, try a different theme and alter your keyword density.
Just my 2 cents.
P.S. if you've already spent 1200 bucks, your keyword is NOT easy.
Sounds like you're on the right track.
One technical thing I'd look at if you haven't already is if you only have one version of your URL that can be visited, ie:
http
https
www
or non-www
are all redirected to one version of your URLs is your preferred URL and match your canonicals, and your XML sitemap URLs match those too. So if you can load multiple version of your URL, consolidate them with your .htaccess file if you're on an apache server.
Web 2.0's, PBNs, and other links you mentioned are useful for passing PageRank/link juice. No doubt about that.
But the power of a good editorial link is impressive. I've had new pages with no traffic and rankings move up with one good, legitimate, high quality editorial link. I'm lucky enough to have the budget and team to acquire links like this, and they always have a good effect for me on a page by page basis. Also, having some high quality links like this will help balance out the lower links that you've already acquired. Some of us that are highly focused on link building tend to hold the opinion that a diverse and natural backlink profile is the way to go; and all PBN, Web 2.0 and etc tend not to tell a story of quality and diversity.
The only problem is that high quality links from highly authoritative sites are not easy to get. So it'll cost you either a lot of time or money.
Best of luck to you.
I am in the same situation and it has been so frustrating. I am currently at #6 for one keyword and in second and third pages for the rest.
Tried pbns, web 2.0 and cannot move. Been like that since april.
I got some guest posts on july, hope that gets me some improvements.
One question, What indexation technique do you suggest? I have a 50% off coupon of onehourindexing ($9.9/mo) Should I go with them or do indexation work manually?
Even if they pay you 9.9/mo, don't use them. Not even a single link will get indexed. Currently, the 2 indexing services that work best are LSI and IndexInject. Both have threads on BHW.
Since you haven't done anything to index your links, I assure you that most of your diversity pack links aren't indexed. You can do a quick check through Scrapebox to see how many are actually indexed. Like I said, your links not being indexed can affect your anchor ratios.
Once again, it doesn't matter what AHREFS shows. AHREFS will show you lots of links that aren't indexed. It's very hard to index Web 2.0, profile links, doc sharing links etc that are the the major chunk of diversity packages. Based on what you've said, I feel that you're not moving because you don't have enough anchor diversity and you've messed up your anchor ratios. I'm just making an assumption since I haven't seen your website. Based on what you've said, I think you barely have any indexed brand and naked URL anchors. This could be one of the major things holding you back.
You don't need to spend more than $300 - 500 to get to page 1 for an easy keyword. You've either got a hard keyword, messed up the off page or both.
I think that over optimization may be one of my problems.
Do you really think another diversity pack with naked and branded anchors should fix it?
I also got 7 guest posts this month with anchors like see more, check this and etc.
How long do you think it takes for it to start showing results?
I would like to knkw if I should keep building them or just leave it and start another site.
Guest posts are too expensive. No one does free guest post anymore just "sponsored".
Sure. PM me your skype.
I spent a little less then you. I spent around the same amount as you so we are pretty similiar in situation.
How is your keyword density? Maybe you are cannibalizing within your own page. Try to maintain a less than 1% keyword density and wait for a few days.
About the editorial links. What is the best approach: Link to homepage to increase DA or link to a WP post that you want to rank?
Something's clearly working to get you on to the first page. In my experience 80% of SEO is always about links in competitive niches. Check out the sites above you and try getting links from the same places where possible and just generally continue building more and more quality links. Some things just take time, especially when you're pushing up page 1
That is the hard thing, you know? My site completes one year this month.
I started wondering if its better to start a new one and just leave this to its own luck.
I have no problem to continue making backlinks as even in page two I make around 300 a month with the site. I just wouldnt like to keep it up for one more year wasting money.
What would be a good anchor ratio?
what tool is that image in OP you use for checking rankings?
Try lowering it down to 0.6-0.8% even for the LSI. I've had several consultations for websites where they were over optimizing their keywords.
