A lot of blogs don’t fail because of competition.

They fail because of confusion.

New bloggers usually do one of three things:

They publish random topics without building depth
They chase keywords without understanding intent
They build links before building structure

The result?

Some traffic comes in.
A few pages rank.
Then growth stops.

Very true.

Covering multiple random topics is no longer cool.

Content should be coherent while at the same time avoiding cannibalization.
 
consistent is not an option in limit of traffics but rank of keyword or focus niche with quality content post to index website in search result/serp.authority blogs/pages generate more than 10k traffics monthly.
 
Internal linking is the one most people sleep on from these three.
You can have great topical focus and match intent perfectly but if Google can't crawl the relationship between your pages, you're leaving rankings on the table.

Mostly strategy. No clear topic focus, weak internal linking, and content that does not match the intent. Links help but, they can't fix a messy foundation.

One big reason is missing clear focus and solid internal linking, so the content doesn’t stack enough relevance to really gain traction over time

Many blogs lose their sense of direction after reaching around 5–10k traffic. Perhaps they run out of ideas, or after Google updates cause traffic drops, they no longer have the motivation to continue growing.

In my experience you have to have the same content and not deviate from your main niche, otherwise you are not going to rank above 10k visits.
 
For me, it was mostly lack of focus. I chased trendy keywords without thinking about the bigger picture, and my content felt scattered. Even when a post ranked, the blog didn’t grow because nothing connected. Consistency matters, but without a clear theme and proper structure, traffic rarely compounds.
 
Most get stuck because they never go deep in one niche. They post random stuff so Google cant see clear authority. Without tight topical clusters and strong internal links growth just flatlines.
