Why isn’t .tt catching on?

I’ve been looking at different ccTLDs that went global, like .io for startups, .ai for AI projects, and .gg for gaming.
But .tt (Trinidad & Tobago) domains don’t seem to get much traction, even though they’re short and could be used creatively (like spo.tt or cha.tt).
Why do you think .tt hasn’t gained popularity yet? Is it pricing, awareness, or just lack of demand?

probably lack of demand if I were to guess. I don't think I've seen a single... um.... Trinidadian and Tobagoan ?? in over 30 years of being online... and offers for this market I've also seen none, so I really don't think there is demand for this.

But this is just my guess, feel free to correct me and prove me wrong if you know the answer :)
 
No one want buy unranked .tt domain for $263-$499, As it is high price and not trending on market, that is why people are skip .tt domain.
 
Look at the prices for it, and it looks super sketchy anyways and I strongly believe that is the main reason why it's so underrated and will surely remain so.

But ccTLDs sometimes gain traction outside their home region when repurposed creatively.

Have you seen any industries where .tt might actually fit well?

.tt is less about global reach and more about niche strength, giving strong trust and credibility in local.

The .tt price and unfamiliarity keep it underrated, even though it has potential for niche appeal with the right approach.

it's possible...

But if it gets lowered too much (to around $1 to $10, for example) spammers will buy them in droves and spam the crap out of them, so there's this too :)

Agreed! Pricing has to balance growth with protecting the extension’s reputation.
