Why doesn't any thread-starter post another time in the thread after asking 'such' a question on BHW forums? (Example: the most hilarious thread in history of mankind: papal and monkey thread)

Why do people post on 'such' threads and waste their time even after they know that posting on 'such' a thread will waste their time?

To succinctly answer the OP's questions, people have a fundamental emotional or spiritual need to feel loved, cared for, or worthy of being blessed or to receive generosity, regardless of whether they logically follow-through by reciprocating the love, generosity or caring. The requirements of the psyche, and the will to behave consistent with those needs come from two different places. Just because you're hungry, it doesn't mean you also want to feed people.

This contradiction shows up in male and female relations---men need to feel trusted and fully approved of or accepted by a woman, even as they may cheat on them (and thereby jeopardize the trust). Women want their man to make a commitment, even though they may not really feel a need be committed to the man. The person who wants a financially better situation long term may be the same person who never saves, budgets, invests or takes a risk. A celebrity may want the public to love them, yet have nothing but contempt for those unfamous peons personally.

The world isn't "odd," it's usually just selfish or self-centered. As Drake raps, "I'mma worry 'bout me, give a f* about you."
