Hi BHW,

I want to buy some things from Alibaba to start an e-commerce store but the shipping is super expensive.

For example this product (it's just a random example)

The product is $8.41 and the shipping is $22.48. I do not intend to buy just one piece but it's the same for more products.
For 100 bags the shipping is $2364.16 (shipping 5-20 working days).

Check the distance between Romania & China and add the fact that there aren't many shipments going there compared to, let's say, the USA. You'll have to find an alternative way to ship it for cheaper but it will take more time 20-45 days.

Yea, it's a long distance. I found it way cheaper on Aliexpress but the problem here it's the shipping time.
So there's no way to pay less for shipping and get the product in at least 10-15 days , not 45?

BTW: I selected the country United States and shipping is between $10 and $16 per piece , not a big difference , still very expensive!

I heard it's because north american postal service's get compensated within taxes/etc.

Therefore, leading to the cheapest - fastest shipping possible within our hands.

It's a game of hot potato here

That's about to change and it will have an effect world wide. President Trump has already submitted a review of the 100 year plus international agreement that allows China to ship at such low rates. Bc china ships mostly to to the USA, the USA has essentially been subsidizing international shipping.

I wonder if the changes you're referring to will be within cents or dollars if it increases

& Are you saying the USA pays China subsidy/compensation, so China can ship their goods to us for cheap?

Dollars not cents.

No, I'm saying the USA doesnt charge China for delivery of their small packages. Try mailing something to China and see the cost discrepancy
