I don't know about India but Reddit has subs on almost every and any topic you can think of. And there are a lot of real human beings sharing their opinions and ideas. So there's a lot to learn there.

Yes, for many niches, one can find practical information even if the content is not available for it on Google.

maybe it's because they have fear of being judged and reddit makes your identity anonymous so they feel more comfortable asking their questions on reddit instead ask physically from someone .
 
it has average popularity almost everywhere in the globe. The most important fact is it has opportunity to create any niche related subs and easy to find any solutions
