IMO you can check first your hosting, if your website server is suffering from BH from the pass, use PWA, to make it SE friendly, and believe me google will love it, use framework like react Vite, API) for fast loading, as user frontend, The most attractive thing is Hosting pages is: (comparing hosting, like pros, cons...), make it simple (prices, loadtimes...), write a click bite title, and the most of important thing is give time to your project, don't be hurry, to get a real reputation you need time to build it, also, the domain name play a big role to attract visitors.

SEO help to make your site SEO friendly as well as organic results. it takes time to get better ranking and organic traffic. It generates organic results for long-time period
I also hired a PPC expert and put $2k per month on that. We get about 80 impressions a day if that and about 2 or 3 clicks. The clicks are very expensive but our budget isnt even being used so feels like something isnt right
=> PPC generates paid traffic. Once you will stop the PPC services then traffic will also stop. hope you understand.
In my opinion, it will be better if you need to do SEO first after that you can proceed with Google ads.

and if is high competitive and wide as "AI" , wich is the solution ? spend thousands in backlinks?
