I created a micro niche site about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I've been rank 21-26 pretty much the whole time.

One of my competitors is ranking with just an ezine article and he's been rank #11 and hasn't moved since I started.

I created 4 web 2.0 properties about a week ago.

Squidoo
Tumblr
Gather
Weebly

I haven't seen any serps changes at all from this. I'm consistently rank 21-26 never moving to the second page.

My on-site SEO is 10x better than my #11 competitor with 4 keyword rich articles, bolded text on keywords, alt tags on images the whole 9 yards.

My site and SEO work is quite a bit better than the competition, but I haven't moved up in serps in weeks.

Do I just need to give it more time? Or should I have someone take a look at my site?

Four web properties isn't really much in terms of helping you to make a dent in the SERPs. When I do it, I do at least twenty.

Yeah, but my competition only has one ezine article so I feel like doing 20 web properties (especially for a micro niche site) would be a little overboard no?

Not sure, but there are gigs on Fiverr that can do it for you. "Go big or go home"

There's a lot of factors to consider...

- Is there some new content added on a regulary basis on your website in comparison to them?

- Are they localised in the same area than you? (datacenters are not updated all at the same time).

- Do you get constant backlinks in comparison to them..

And so on...

Go to Fiverr , pay $5 for link pyramid , pay another $5 for .edu backlink..
then , make 20 sec video (anything )upload to youtube and link it with your site.. put your site url in the description.

submit your rss to rss feed .. bookmark your site(u can use onlywire).. bookmark ur main url and posting url..

if still no change in SERP in 2 weeks time .. go to Fiverr again and pay $5 for bookmarking service , pay $5 for profile backlink (xrumer) , pay $5 for 10k backlink with Scrapebox ( search apekillape@BHW service for sale )..

if still no change.. download Directory Submitter Platinum from Bryxen Software.. do the submission manually..

if still no change.. do LINKWHEEL with two layer spoke..

Fuhhhhh , i'm tired.. hope it's make sense.. :D

Trust me, SEO is not "my competitor has such shit links and mine are so much better and there's more of them why am I not ranking as high".

Google makes little sense.

What you can tell by tracing the backlinks is mostly ONLY the INDEXED backlinks. Do not forget there are also crawled (but not indexed) ones.

So your best bet would be to create mini link-wheels of your own.

Simply put 4 web properties is not enough. Keep building links of different types each day until your #1. Start slow and work your way up.

You will need more than 4 backlinks supporting your site as others have already mentioned.

Take a look at your competitions backlinks to gauge what you are going up against, it isn't as easy as 4 Web 2.0 links.

My best advice would be to take a look at the BHW services section, you can find a lot of reputable backlink services that will help your backlinking without having to spend countless hours doing it.

I was playing out with some new things recently...
Got some .info domains of mine, that are sitting there and getting dust.Changed the footer links back to my site and blasted the hell out of them with ScrapeBox and AMR.Does the trick all the time;can be done with free domains as well, but if a web 2.0 gets deleted, all the work goes down the drain.
P.S:i used 25 .info domains of mine with about 50 articles on them in total.Domain age <1 year old for 80 % of them!

Did you research your competition? How many backlinks do they have? Do they have an EMD? Does their websites title, description, & h1 tag contain the keyword(s) they're trying to rank for? Yours should have all of that.

Don't count your links. Just build more links. Keep building more links. Always more links. You'll rank as long as you keep building links.

Interesting how people always say so surely "he's got only 1 backlink"
How do you know that? Is his site listed in your webmaster tools so you can see ALL the links?

I see a lot of bashing on the Fiverr gigs. I have done a couple of them and gotten surprising results. For $5 it can't hurt to try some of them. Try using them on some of your web 2.0's.

If you decide to blast your site add new content just before, and during the days after the blast,it looks more natural that more people are commenting on your site as more content is added.

I prefer adding content to around 15-30 web 2.0's on a daily, every 2nd day basis with no outbound links for about 2 weeks then I add a superior article with a contextual link to the main site.
On wordpress blogs always create categories and vary the categories for posts,it looks like your adding a good selection of content.
Do mini scrapebox blasts with AA lists(use a dummy site for the initial blast then collect the found links and only use them to the web 2.0's) using found AA links avoids any akismet ban as well.

2 weeks is nothing consider yourself doing aleady,2 weeks you were nowhere to be seen, keep going.

Add some high PR links as well, they can work wonders.
