Why Is My Domain Authority Dropping Even With Quality Backlinks?

What could be the possible reason why is my website domain authority keeps dropping? I have been putting high backlinks, deleting products from website and disavowing spam links? In technical point, I have made sure all are fine like mobile-friendliness, fast-speed and others. Anyone knows more of it? I am new in SEO so I am not a pro obv. Open to all opinions! :)

Are you sure with your low quality backlinks removed?

It sounds like you're already doing a lot of the correct things. Good job being proactive! One reason your domain authority can be going down is if you deleted pages or backlinks that used to help your site's authority. Deleting items or denying too many links at once can lower your overall link equity for a short time. I think you should focus on getting a constant stream of high-quality, relevant backlinks and making sure your internal linking is solid. It takes time for domain authority to settle down, so you need to be patient and consistent.

Domain authority can decrease over time as search engines evaluate the relevance and trust of your backlink profile despite seemingly good links and technical setup
 
which "authority" are you referring to? and what are these "quality" links you're getting?
3rd-party metrics are irrelevant, their algorithms do change, and they won't detect "bad" links as "bad" in fact,
if you're referring to rankings & traffic, then you're probably getting the wrong links or/and disavowing the wrong ones,
your statement won't make things as clear, we need more details & examples...
 
  1. Check if any of your existing backlinks are low quality.
  2. Make sure you're not disavowing good links by mistake.
  3. If your competitors are improving their SEO, it might affect your site's authority.
 
There are 2 subjective matters here

What you are considering ''quality backlinks'' may not be so great as you imagine.
And domain authority metrics are also very subjective, not officially taken into consideration

I wouldn't rely my website analysis on those metrics.
 
bro same thing happened to me last year when i was doing seo for my blog. domain authority isn’t google’s metric so it doesn’t affect ranking directly. if you deleted a lot of pages or backlinks got removed, da drops. also tools like moz recalc da based on new data so it fluctuates. focus more on traffic + keyword ranking, not da. it stabilizes once your link profile + content stays consistent for a while.

Happens to everyone. DA shifts are normal after Moz recalculations or if your link profile isn’t growing as fast as others. Don’t panic — watch real metrics like traffic, impressions, and keyword gains instead.

It can drop even with good backlinks if some links lose value, old pages get deleted, or competitors grow faster.

Also, DA updates aren’t from Google, it’s just a third-party metric, so small drops are normal.

From my Opinion, I think algorithm cares more about link relevance and freshness now.

Why would you care about third-party metrics, such as DA or DR?

Do not give much importance to factors like DA. You should only care about current ranking movements. If it is not improving, then replan your seo strategy.

Is third point really valid?
 
It might be due to low-quality links from good metrics sites or lost backlinks. Also, deleting pages can affect authority flow. Check for broken links and update internal linking too.
