Why is Instagram removing likes?

some guy on youtube mentioned that they might bring back public likes for a subscription fee. Anybody think this is likely? I personally wish they never took out the likes, dont like the direction fb’s headed

Cuz the strawberries are getting mental illnesses (example: depression and becoming suicidal) from not getting enough likes as their self-worth = to number of likes they get.

Agree - however, I feel like this more aimed at the users still in school etc and helping Instagram improve their CSR.

A subscription fee I guess would be charged to the agencies or people wanting to find out analytics to make money eg the influencer.

I do believe its part that and part to earn more from ads too as it will affect influencer marketing slightly

I don't think it has anything to do with money. Rather about making the average user experience better. Blackhatters ruined instagram with fake likes. It's as simple as that. Fake likes and exchanged engagement is ridiculously common. That makes everyone who doesn't exchange and buy crap look/feel bad so they don't even post. IG quickly took it worldwide due to the positive response. People started to post more and the platform is turning more authentic.

Yeah as a brand it kind makes things more difficult for me but I like the change. It was getting way out of hand.

I have no idea what's going to happen with the influencers and brands who work together. Someone said the likes still show from browsers?

EDIT: lol no they don't. I can already imagine all the services and browser plug ins that are gonna pop up for this

I see your point, however, I just feel its an avenue for Instagram to control and regulate the influencer market.

"Why is Instagram removing likes?"

To try and mend the problems they have caused with society and what people value. I hope that is the reason anyway :)

to reduce the instagram player chasing likes rather than improving the quality of the content

In my opinion, they just want to diminish the power of sponsored posts and digital influencers. If you can't measure the power of a post, it's harder to buy.

This way, they force people to buy the pantaforma's own posts boost.
