After submitting the list to Google disavow tool, I have waited months, but no sign that Google accepted the list.

I have used this example:
# One domain to disavow
domain:shadyseo.com

Here it is telling that the list is submitted but the domains aren't disavowed. Anyone can help?

It could just be glithcing. Try re-uploading or switch to a URL-prefix property.
But it does take ages at times

That tool is a joke honestly.

I don’t have direct access to your Google Search Console (GSC) to pinpoint why your disavow file isn’t working, but I can explain the common reasons Google may not seem to disavow toxic backlinks after submission, based on 2025 SEO trends and our discussions on White Hat SEO, AI tools, and the Helpful Content Update (HCU). I’ll also tie this to our strategies (e.g., safe backlinking, internal linking, content updates) and offer actionable steps to troubleshoot, grounded in current insights.

If Google isn’t disavowing toxic backlinks after you’ve submitted a disavow file, several factors could explain this, ranging from Google’s processing mechanics to misunderstandings about the disavow tool’s purpose and effectiveness.
