I have been running ads on google since 2012 using both white and black hat strategies

I was formally black listed and banned from setting up or managing ANY google service in 2022 - I could not even setup a new gmail account ! This was obviously some weird geolocating functionality google uses for persistent rule breakers whom they have lost allot of money too. The last campaign I ran resulted in several ST keywords being totally banned from triggering ads !

I was bored one afternoon last month and decided to login and setup a new google ads account using a fresh gmail account. Initially the account was banned for circumventing systems but I used the new fancy appeal functionality and the account was unbanned and has been running ads for the past 3 weeks

Compared to 2022 - there is a new functionality and allot more information on the platform regarding bans - almost like they want to work with you and resolve the banning issue

My question is this; WHAT HAS CHANGED ?

Is this the experience of other users - or is google ads still just as ruthless??

Since 2022, Google Ads has introduced more transparent appeal processes and detailed policy violation information, aiming to resolve issues rather than enforce strict bans. This aligns with your experience of successfully appealing a ban. However, Google remains stringent, with AI-driven enforcement suspending 39.2 million accounts in 2024. User experiences vary—some report easier resolutions, while others face ruthless bans for severe violations like fraud.
