AI written content always has some specific tells, usually key phrases and organization, that make it easy to spot after working with it for a while. I've noticed a TON of AI written content for people's forum posts here and I'm curious. Do you think it comes from a place of laziness, spam, or just people assuming the AI content is better than it really is?

It's spam. And it's not just this forum, ai spam has taken over every platform where there's an incentive to post content.

Here, you need 100 posts to get jr vip, and there's incentive to automate that process because for e.g scammers can then use that account to scam people.

- Inflate the post count.
- Poor marketplace spam bots that try to age their accounts to sell them later (Google it).
- Poor spam bots that promote Chinese software with trojans.
- Future Jr. VIP members with no sense about how a community really works.

Yeah, haha you're all in the same boat with my own thoughts it seems! The crazy thing to me is that with a bit of editing and better prompt writing you can put out good AI assisted content, but nobody even takes the time to do that.

Pssst, the bots may read this also and improve their strategy. Haha.
Yeah - that's one of the reasons I don't share more specific tips than that!

I've written at least a thousand AI assisted articles at this point, but I don't want to put out a guide on it because to do so would result in more spam looking just like the content I've been working on haha.

I think its laziness...

And like other people have said...

An aged account with Jr VIP access is worth something, so anytime money is involved online there will be spammers and scammers as well.

Both laziness and the need to create a large amount of articles in a short time to help with SEO. Sometimes there is more lucrative things to work on then hammering out so many articles yourself. On this topic though can anyone point me to a great free content writer besides ChatGPT? Thanks in advance!

These helpful members have since answered your question.

It’s just an avenue in which they can get to 15 & 100 posts without having to put forth any real effort. The ease of use being the catalyst here.

Contrary to what members may think, AI content isn’t strictly prohibited on the forum. If it adds real value to a thread, it’s allowed.

Unfortunately, most people use it for quick spam answers & PCI reasons. If you see this specific type of AI content, please report it.

If you have further questions please visit our newbie guide summary here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/s...ter-list-of-all-newbie-guide-threads.1389081/ If that doesn’t answer your question, please reach out to our Support for further guidance.

Thanks for all the comments above. It should also be noted that AI-written content isn't all that common here. We run sporadic tests and find that less than 5% would be considered "AI written" by the most well-known (paid) AI content detectors.

It's something we keep an eye on and update our policies accordingly.
