Why .info domains suck

i use lots of .info's and they rank pretty well i dont think it matters apart from the visitors seeing that its not a .com but the think that changes anything anyway as long as your offering what they need

I don't have any proof other than my experience
But
i am sure you are aware of the recent change in co.cc domains
Google deindexed all the co.cc domains just because these domains were used for spamming purpose

and have some manners to talk
its just an discussion not a war that you are using such language

Google de-indexed a SUBDOMAIN. .cc URLs still appear in Google, just not .co.cc.

As for manners, this is a place for adults. If you can't take a fuck or shit, then go play with the children in the sandbox. I'm here to make money, not friends.

as if I sent u some friend request lol
u r here to make money I understand but why are you so frustrated

and regarding co.cc
it got nothing to do whether its a sub domain or a domain
sub domains are also treated like domains in google if you are not aware
and secondly co.cc used to provide full dns support so it works like a domain only
if you call it a sub domain then i am sure you will call co.uk also a sub domain

anyways
I am not here to argue or fight with a frustrated kid like you
so just relax

I love .info hell I even use subdomains on them and get good traffic on them.

I guess its all in how you use them. They can rank it been proven.

No they might suck for some people but they don't suck when they rank and get you traffic that converts. :)

I am ranking second in Google with emd.com for a competitive keyword with a daily search volume of over 4500. And the top spot is taken by an emd.info. And the .info domain was bought after I had bought the .com domain - so I have come to the conclusion that .info domains can also rank well if you have good content and backlinks.

And there will be another 10 years to discuss this issue as it was done many many times for past 10 years.

Well IMO domain extensions does not play any role in ranking except Local extensions like .au, .in, .co.uk. I am completely disagree with your statement that .info can not rank well in SERP. I have seen hundreds of domain ranking #1 for VERY VERY VERY Competitive keywords from last 5+ years. I am not gonna disclose all of them but some of them are leader in their respected industry, so by disclosing their domain won't affect them.

1) www.prchecker.info ranking for three major and very very strong competitive keywords. The keywords are "Google PageRank Checker" ,
"Google pr checker" , "PR checker" (without quotes)

2) www.best-free-web-hosting.info ranking #1 "BEST Free Web Hosting" (without quotes) from so many years.

So moral of the story:

1) Add good and lot of content to your websites.
2) Create your website authority by strong SEO and SMO campaign.

Thanks,
Jacky

Hey Jacky I gave a big thanks for your comment. Everyone wants a quick fix here. They want to outsource and buy all kinds of packages and software to make money fast!

In the real world if you want you site to rank high in the SERPs "and stay there!" you need to so what Jacky suggests. Actually you be so much better in the long run as your website gets stronger you will make good money for years to come.

Someone forgot to tell my .info's not to rank.... I agree with everyone above who stated that its not a problem with SEO, rather, its a problem with loosing credibility with your potential customers. Try enticing them with a cleaver title/description and you'll be amazed what will happen to your traffic.

I have tons of .info domains ranking well. I don't think google sees any different at all. My only concern when choosing the domain extension is what users will be more likely to remember when typing in the domain name. Obviously 90% of internet users will remember ".com" by default, which is why it is the best choice. But I think .info ranks the same.

How about show us your search engine ranking positions before , today, and 4 months from now. THAT would be a better conclusion.

I can register a brand new domain today, get it ranked top 10 for a keyword, but if I just leave it after that, it will gradually go down to rank 30-40. That is how Google works. If you let something sit for a long time, and nobody is linking to it on a regular basis, it will most likely go down in the rankings over time. And if you just register a new site, Google will rank it very highly to begin with.

I recommend everyone buy exact match .info domains.

I've had the exact same issues with info EMD's. Maybe it's the difference in niches but my personal opinion is that people just distrust info domains.

I don't think there is any difference. I have done just as well with .info ones but the real problem is nobody wants to buy .info so if you want to sell it later...good luck!

I just don't like .info ext domains. I have seen them ranking but only on few keywords otherwise .com always rocks !!

ANY domain extension will suck if you have no fucking clue what you're doing, .info included.

Dude I just think your a bit of a dick with your agression in this thread....I know what I am doing....this is just one of my sites, and my efforts tend to direct towards my more profitable properties...sure info's can rank. If you build enough quality links, I am sure the turd will float...the point is if it is worth it....the same effort applied to a .com would be more productive...take it or leave it...i don't care.

I've never had a problem ranking .info's, .me's, .biz's etc. .info is like anything else, you have to know what you are doing.

It may also have something to do with the niche the INFO is in. The more spammy the niche the more power these penalties work against you. But a lot of these penalties can be overcome with more work. I guess it comes down to whether you want to do the extra work.

my .info site did nothing. i tried ranking it for less than 5K comp and nothing.
