Why I'm not getting backlinks?

Ok i have been posting to related blogs/niches in the comment boxes, also i have posted to many squidoo lenses. I have posted good content related to the blog/lens with a backlink to my page. However after a couple days my comments are not showing. Are the owners simply denying comments?

Can anyone recommend better ways in obtaining backlinks (whitehat) or mild blackhat (nothing to get my site blacklisted)

I don't know how you check your backlinks, but if you're doing "link:www.my*domain.com" in google, it's normal that nothing shows up after a couple of days. There are more and better backlink checkers available, just google for it.

for example: one of my sites gets 60 backlinks on google with the "link:" querry, but if I check the backlinks on hxxp://www.iweb*tool.com/backlink_checker I see more than 1000 backlinks.

You probably just haven't given it enough time. If you're using g webmaster tools, I don't think they update every day (not even every week). You might want to check yah00 site explorer and see if it's showing anything or a third option is to go to technorati, enter your url name in the search box and see what the results are. If they're on technorati, you'll likely see them soon enough. You could also copy/paste the url(s) for your technorati results find a ping site and ping those url's. That would help with both the indexing speed and breadth of your backlinks.

Yeah cheers for pointing that out, also do you guys put your main keyword as the name of your comment when you are commenting on a blog. Or is this pointless (doesn't is make a anchor link for your websites url) or would this normally be seem as spam.

It would seem spammy to the blog owner, however, I try to make my name sound like the anchor text I'm going for. Just be creative.

yeah thats a good idea, but my keyword is a ball breaker to do that. How about i simply put my name, i still get a backlink, but not a anchor text backlink to my site. Would this be pointless?

A backlink is still a backlink. That's the way I look at it, but I'm just a newbie, so what do I know?

I'd recommend putting your name, when you post a comment, as the keyword you are targeting and not leave a link in the actual comment area.... The name will provide a link back to your site if you will in the mywebpage field on the blog.

Typically I delete any posts that contain a link in the body on my blog unless they are specifically well written and related to the matter of the post.

Also, its not necessary but I find that if i copy and paste the url of my comment into a text file and upload the list to google manually that they will get indexed and provide a backlink much sooner than if I did nothing.

before commenting, check out the previous comments, if they have kaywords as their names then that means that the blog owner allows such comments but if you cant find any such comments then submit with your own name.

1. It's is definately possible that the blog/site owners are not approving your links. I quit blog commenting a looooonnnggg time ago. its just not worth the time and effort you put into it for the reward you receive.

2. What you really need to do is purchase permanent blog links from $5-$15 per blog review. Go to DP (digitalpoint), sitepoint, and any other large websmaster community and post that you would like to purchase blog reviews for your certain niche.

You will receive a horde of people responding to your requests. NEVER TAKE THE FIRST OFFER. Most are way overpriced! You need to make sure you bargain with them. Check their Alexa rank, Google Backlinks, and traffic from Compete.com. Then formulate how much you would like to pay.....the most I pay is $15-$20 for 2-3 backlinks on a review. This is for great alexa, backlinks, and traffic.

Next, once you have 4-6 bargains from other sites. Rewrite a few reviews you already have on your site or pay someone $3 to do a 300 word review. Get around 4-6 of these done. Now you have the reviews complete, which are unique and will definately get indexed and the people who are going to post them.

NOTE: Make sure that each review is posted on a different site/IP. You can check the IP by going to Who.is.

Send the website owners the reviews along with appropriate anchor text for your links (keywords you are trying to rank for) and they should post within 48 hours.

Now you have spent maybe $75-$100 for 5-6 reviews of your products, with 15-20 LEGIT backlinks to your site that will only increase in pagerank and authority. This will be worth TEN fold once you give google time to index these pages and it saves TONS of time.
