Why I’m Back to Testing Image Ads Again

Totally agree. I’ve seen the same trend lately... raw, simple images are outperforming polished videos. Meta’s algorithm seems to favor faster-loading creatives and authentic visuals. Simple often converts better now :)

I used to lean heavily into video creatives, thinking they always outperformed static ads. But lately, I’ve been surprised by how well some basic image ads are doing—especially after recent Meta updates. They’re quicker to make, easier to test, and way cheaper to scale. What’s even more interesting is that some of the least polished creatives are pulling in better ROAS than highly-produced videos.

If you’ve been sleeping on image ads, now might be a good time to test a few. You don’t need anything fancy—just clear messaging and a solid hook. Sometimes simple just works better.
Exactly! I've seen this trend clearly recently.
Videos are beautiful, but they load slowly, cost a lot of money to test, and are prone to "mislearning" if there's little data.
Meanwhile, basic images - just headline + clear offer - generate orders.
It seems that Meta is prioritizing light, easy-to-read, easy-to-understand creative.
No need for fancy, just a strong click trigger is enough!
