To a point you need to stick with it. But when you rank ten or so medium competition KWs and you are making $5 a day with Adsense, you need to re look at your strategy at the very least.

It is a situation where those who get it, get it. This is not for the people who cant get anything to work. Anything can work. But most just cant make anything work!

The site structure is simple silo View attachment 74939 but yeah that link power pointing at only 1 post is stupid...the reason I did this is because semrush show me that I surprisingly ranked for that keyword.

In theory, some juice is lost but it still will help bring everything up. I intentionally do most link building to category pages on my bugger sites. Ranking each page alone was too daunting and it just happened to work.

They do not. You are right. But to think 100 articles makes an authority site is not the right way to look at things.

It comes down to the niche respecting you as an authority. No matter how big you get, without that 'extra work' it will not happen.

What is the difference between smaller and big authority websites in terms of monthly keyword searches?

if the keyword searches are between 1000-20000 smaller, greater than 20,000 big??????

How many PBN links and web 2.0 links required to rank for small sites?

All true stuff OP. I have spent years and thousands of hours creating a true authority site. I have dozens of how to videos (that I created) and over 1 million words on the website, hundreds of infographics I created personally. If you have searched in my niche, you have probably been on my website.
After getting punished by google about 6 months after starting for building links, I stopped building links to it and just wrote articles. The problem became, if you want to build a massive website that people rely on, you will have to write articles about things that have never been written about. Things people don't usually search for. These articles are very time consuming and often times expensive.
I am so passionate about my niche, and I am so invested in this website because of the thousands of hours I have poured into it. Often times working 12-14 hours a day and not making much money back out of it. Will this website eventually pay me for my time? I don't know. But I think so, people send me offers to buy it all the time. I can say one thing for sure, the time I spent building this website could have been spent in a lot better ways that would have made me more money. Would I do it differently if I could do it over again? I'm not so sure I would..
When you start getting heavy traffic coming to your site by people searching for your brand name, it feels good. You know that people want to read your content and you genuinely feel like you are somewhat successful. The best part is, I'll never have to buy another link to the website. They just come, every single day. I'm now concentrating on building a line of products so I can make some actual money. Eventually you get to the point where people will buy whatever you tell them to, and I'm pretty much there. I am hoping it's almost time to bank roll$$$

Well I must write something to, I don't have "authority" website but have "authority" website :). Like you move from big to small I move from small to big website. Reson was, I don't make more small websites I make new pages on big website, and don't rank new domain I rank new pages. All juice stays on website, and before when I rank for some CB product for example some small website and that program stop to sell I just can delete website even if I'm ranked 1# on google and like this I still have those juice I got from that page and build to that page. And with new domains I was need 2 months to rank for some keyword and with big one because already have "authority" I rank more more faster... Its for sure easier to rank small website but I cant say its better on longterm.
 
I Admit it. Takes good adherence and investments to build an authority site.

Well said, sounds like me in my first attempt at an authority site. Just stick with it and if I were you, you should add some safe links which will help boost the rankings. Such as press releases or outreach blog posts. You won't get penalized for these but they can only help.

I liked your article and all, but I still go for authority sites, that I know can get brand recognition and trust from it's users.

I'm not near my friend, but he built his authority site in less than two years, become one of the top trusted brand in his niche and is now earning over 40k+ per month..

Your whole article summarizes into the following:

Authority site with rank and trust, equals major bank..

If you're in for quicker cash, constant work for the rest of your life.. churn and burn.

I love authority sites because believe it or not, with just one site that can last you countless years earning well, it's hands off.. it comes a time where you just buy articles, hire people to do the work for you.. It's really not that hard, just put a little bit of work..

Also, it ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS..

IF YOU CAN RANK, THEN YOU'RE SET.. (Aside from the fact that you should learn to promote and convert your traffic).

Anyway, that's that I have learned from experience.
 
I have a question.

I got a domain that was going to be about a specific or lets say 2 - 3 specific sub niche that fall in the same major niche.
(so i worked it up around running shoes at first)

After many months, i removed all and started looking for keywords and i found super low competition keywords in various niche that related to the domain name itself but they were diverse sub niche in a very major niche)

So now this website has many posts from various niches with super low comp keywords and they can all be linked in one major niche or a few of them.

Question is what do you call this website?

Super niche site?
Authority?

I don't understand how you can have that kind of authority in your niche, and not be making bank.

There must be Amazon products you can promote in your posts?

If that is the case, and OP talks about ROI (time and money) then it does seem like micro niche and review sites are better investments for noobs.

how do you churn and burn your sites with 301?

Have you dozens of good sites for 301 redirect? Or do you buy it? or shortener redirect trick?
