Why I can't upload an animated avatar?

I've seen user with low post count than man having an animated avatar but I'm unable to do so.

Whenever I upload a .gif, it simply takes the first frame and makes it a static image.

How do I come up with this?

I think you need to upload it on other photo hosting.

try a picture with a smaller file size under 19.5 kilobyte, there's a file size limit

bk, I had the exact same problem two days ago. I tried uploading it locally and hosting it; both failed. Then I realised that the height of my image was something like 105px, which exceeded the maximum height - so it was resized upon uploading, causing it to become static.

I dont see an option to upload an avatar at all. I am pretty sure I should be able to, post count over 50 and a member for a few months. anyone else have this prob?

I see the option to edit avatar, but nowhere within there do I see a place to upload. I see two option, no avatar or one of the generics.

To upload a custom avatar you have to have been a member for 30 days and made 50 posts. Since your post count has only just exceeded 50, it may take a while to update. Try again tomorrow.
